Can you put upcoming one-off purchases in Simplifi?

Say I have a dentist appointment in May and I know the copay is $15. Is there a way I can add that as a non-recurring expense?

Hello @cartwrighty,
Thanks for posting your inquiry to the Community!
To clarify, are you looking to enter the item in the Spending Plan specifically, or are you just wanting to enter a future-dated transaction to account for the upcoming expense? If the latter, you can definitely enter a future-dated transaction into the account register, and Simplifi will then move it to the 'Upcoming' section.
You'll then be able to view it as a one-time Reminder occurring on whichever date you set it for, and then when the actual transaction occurs and downloads from your bank, it should automatically link to the Reminder, but can also be manually linked in the instance that it doesn't automatically do so.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if you have any questions!

Hello @cartwrighty,
Thanks for confirming!
Unfortunately, since the ability to forecast into the future isn't available for the Spending Plan quite yet (please see here), there wouldn't be a way to enter something directly into the Spending Plan for a future month.
As mentioned above, however, you can enter a future-dated transaction, which will carry over to the Spending Plan once the month that the transaction was created for begins. Granted, you won't be able to see the item in the Spending Plan until the month of, however, this option can serve as a reminder that the expense will be occurring that month.
Sorry I don't have a better answer, but please be sure to let me know if you have any additional questions! Also, once 'Future Spending Plans' are made available in Simplifi, this type of scenario should no longer be an issue.

Yes. You can add them to your Spending Plan under Planned Spending and make them One time.0

@leinhto That works for a current month's expense. Is there a way to schedule a one-off purchase a couple months ahead of time?0
-
I think you can if you set the first date for that month and keep it one time.0

@leinhto Would you have more specific instructions? I don't believe it's possible to do it that way.0

I take that back you are correct. You cannot future date a planned expense into another month. Just as you can't rollover any available funds.0

@Coach Natalie I was hoping to enter in the Spending Plan, or at least have it reflected there somehow. If I have a one-off purchase coming up that could vary in cost is there any way to have that automatically included in a future Spending Plan so I account for it accurately?0
