Issues connecting to Amex as a Biller

  • I am having a different but related issue with AMEX.  Transactions weren't downloading for the last few days.  Today for the first time they are. But, the biller AMEX is not working. I tried disconnecting and reconnecting the biller (had the same issue last week and the help desk suggested I try this then and it worked). It did not work this time. Here is what happens. When I connect the biller, it tells me it needs an MFA, I click send, the MFA comes through from AMEX (so we know you are connecting to AMEX) but Simplifi just spins and spins and eventually times out.

    Thank you for reporting this to the Community, although I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulties connecting to American Express as a Biller in Simplifi. 

    It looks like your American Express Biller is currently in a "Locked" status. With this particular status, we'll want to verify a few things. First, how are you receiving the MFA code, i.e. text, email, etc.? Are there any other MFA options presented, by chance? If so, please go ahead and give these a try. 

    You'll also want to check your security/MFA settings on the Biller's website to confirm that the option you're selecting is enabled for MFA. If it's not, please enable it and attempt to connect once again in Simplifi.
