When creating a recurring bill, how do I handle if it is variable, such as an electric utility bill?

    Akin to your animal-adorned avatars, both of these answers are excellent and am glad to hear it. Perhaps a note to the use, from a UX perspective, would be good that says something along the lines

    "If your bill varies, input the amount from your last bill" or similar.

    I prefer to enter the max amount I expect that bill to be as opposed to the average. That way I trick myself into saving ever month. ;)

    I always mark the new charge as the recurring, so I know if my current bill went up or down for that month.
