Ability to count Recurring Items as 'Income' even if an Expense Category is used

Each month, my adult kids contribute towards the car insurance bill. I would like to be able to add their payments into my projected cash flow, categorized as car insurance. However, no matter what I do, it makes the recurring transaction a debit. I hope others find this helpful, too!

    Thanks for posting your suggestion to the Community!

    Most likely, the reason that you're seeing the Recurring Item show up as a Bill is that you're using an Expense Category; in order to create Recurring Income, you do need to use an Income Category. With that being said, I went ahead and edited the Title of this request for the ability to count Recurring Items as Income, even if an Expense Category is used, as I believe that this would cover exactly what you're looking for. 

    In the meantime, you may consider creating a separate Income Category to account for the contributions that your kids are making towards the car insurance, and then create the Recurring Income for this accordingly. However, this method wouldn't track their contributions directly against the expense, as the income portion and the expense portion would be tracked under separate Categories.
