Re: How to account for cash loan to child
I would handle it like this — others may do it differently:
(1) Set up a manual Asset account using the "Other Asset" type (for example, "Bob Remodel Loan" and set the Category of the personal check you mentioned to "Bob Remodel Loan" — making it a transfer to that Asset account and creating the initial balance (showing what "Bob" owes you).
(2) When a payment comes in from "Bob," set its Category to "Bob Remodel Loan" as well, making it a transfer from the Asset account to your checking account — increasing the amount in your checking account and decreasing the amount in "Bob Remodel Loan," (showing that he now owes you less).
If you are charging interest, you will need to split the payment from "Bob" so that the interest payment has an income Category (like "Interest Earned") and the principle payment is treated as above.
If you are not familiar with transfers in Simplifi, take a look at this support article:

Re: Savings Goals Not Loading w. Google Chrome
Savings Goals are working for me with the same version of Chrome you are using - 138.0.7204.97 (Official Build) (64-bit) running on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 26100.4484.
To determine if Chrome is the problem (and not something about your particular dataset), you could try opening Simplifi in another Windows browser so you can test the Web version.
(EDIT: I'm assuming your use of Safari was on an Apple product.)

Re: Savings Goal Doesn't Update
I am having this issue too. 3 goals I created last week are just gone. Other goals have the wrong amounts. When I contribute to them, the money "goes away" from the account, but the goal amount doesn't change. If I go to the "account" view, I can see these "unknown goals". And this is after I deleted all my goals and recreated them a couple months ago because this same thing has happened before. Super frustrating.
