Re: Spending Plan Redesign: Share your feedback here!
I overran this month’s planned spend on Dining and on Groceries due to unexpected family visits and on Lawn Care due to having to pay to take down a tree that fell over in a storm. What I can’t remember is which of those categories I had already corrected to give room in the Planned budget prior to the new Spending Plan update vs which ones I didn’t correct until after the update. But here are my screenshots showing no overruns in any categories but the overspent number at the top doesn’t want to go away. This could be an error caused by the update itself and may be no issue next month but I have no idea. Sharing details in case it does become a persistent problem. I only see this erroneous Overspent number on the Spending Plan in the Planned Spending page. Nowhere else.
Re: Allow for Child Support Category to be edited as Income and not default as Expense
Hey everyone!
All Categories and Subcategories can be edited and deleted in Quicken Simplifi. The only exceptions are Transfer Categories, Investment Categories, and the Category of 'Balance Adjustment'. With that, users can create, edit, or delete the Child Support Category to their preference.
Thanks!

@cloudquick, disregard! I see the issue on the Mobile App as well and have passed it along.
Thanks for letting us know!
Re: Restore the "Mark as one-time bill" option in the three-dot menu of transactions (edited)
Thank You! Works Great!
Re: Incorrect Transaction Payee
Hello @iakoubtchik,
Thanks for the reply! The first rule may not apply in this case due to the word "round" here. The original payee example you provided has the word round included as "Round-Ups". Are you able to remove the word "round" and keep the rule for statement names containing just the word "acorns"?

Hello @bccoleman,
I apologize. After verifying with our product team, I can see that this issue has been reported already, and we are working on a solution at this time. A fix should be implemented soon!

The "Mark as one-time bill" option has been added back to the three-dot menu of transactions!
Re: Add Keyboard Shortcuts (edited)
I can't agree more regarding the need to be able to select multiple transactions with a few modifier keys. People mentioned mimicking Mint, but I'd suggest emulating spreadsheet tool behavior more generally. In tools like Google Sheets, you hold Shift and click to select all rows (or columns) from what you've already selected to where you click. You can also hold Command (or Ctrl) and click to select specific (usually discontinuous) rows in addition to what's already been selected. I'd recommend implementing both of these options, and here are some suggestions for the behavior when you do:
- If no transaction has been selected, it would be great if you could click anywhere on a transaction and drag over other transactions to select multiple. Ideally, if you go to the top (or bottom) of the page, the page would auto-scroll to allow you to continue selecting more transactions.
- If one or more transactions have been selected, while holding Shift, one should be able to select all transactions from what's been selected to where one clicks by clicking anywhere on another transaction (not just on the checkbox).
- If zero or more transactions have been selected, while holding Command (or Ctrl), one should be able to click anywhere on a transaction to select it (and add it to anything else that's been selected).
Re: Add Keyboard Shortcuts (edited)
There seem to be two different "ideas" in this thread - the title of the thread is "Add Keyboard Shortcuts," and some of the comments do a good job of describing what that should look like and why, particularly this one:
But the description in the OP and many of the comments are not about keyboard shortcuts at all - they are about bulk editing transactions. That is also a worthy feature request, but has almost nothing to do with the title of this thread, which seems to be leading to confusion. A couple users even noticed this and tried starting new threads that are actually about keyboard shortcuts…only to have them merged with this one.
@Coach Natalie could you (or another admin) maybe edit and/or split this into two idea threads so that it is clear what we're voting for?
