Re: Fidelity Sync and Add Errors
I was able to add it today. Thanks! There is some 2-3 day delay before it works.

Re: Saved Reports [edited] (13 Merged Votes)
I am voicing my support for the ability of Quicken Simplifi to save report settings so that I don't have to manually adjust the categories or time frames I would like to see on demand.
Having a reporting feature baked in the software means that you are expecting the user to wish to run reports but our setups are often so different that cookie cutter reporting just doesn't apply for many. It is helpful to allow for on demand customization, and yet would it be that challenging to allow us to save that custom setting for repeated future use? This has been a feature request for a while based on this thread. I have been struggling with this for a while and only today discovered how to submit a feature request. I suspect this feature would appeal to many many more than just those on this thread.
Love the software overall! Thank you!
Re: Subcategories are Grayed out When Parent Category is Checked in Reports (edited)
Yes, the parent category is normally used as a catch all if desired. And it can be used that way in other PFMs including their own legacy product (Quicken Classic). Also, we normally report on the parent category and SOME of the child categories. This bug breaks our ability to do that. And the fact that it is inconsistent between the web app and the android and IOS apps tells us that it is a bug. Maybe fixed in the droid app and somehow dropped from being fixed in the web and IOS apps...
Re: Spending Plan Redesign: Share your feedback here!
@Me123456 — That's pretty odd. I tried the same test with very different results. The first image is before adding a Transaction for a large Auto expense:
The second is after I add a $2000 Transaction for Auto expense. As you can see, the Auto Expenses are now overspent by $1,925.43, Planned Spend has increased by that same amount, and the "Left this month" figure has been reduced by the same amount and is now showing negative.
Can you provide similar images for your situation so folks can try to figure out what's wrong? (I say folks because I will be away from internet for a few days.)

Re: Subcategories are Grayed out When Parent Category is Checked in Reports (edited)
@EL1234 I see what you mean, and when I said it was by design, it was just my attempt to explain it. I had never actually attempted to do what @buttersh was attempting. So, of course, I could be wrong about its being a bug. (I realized upon re-reading my comment above that I was too certain and edited it.)
I have two dividend categories, a regular one and a non-taxable dividend. I have them both set up as subcategories under Yields. For a while, I had the non-taxable as a subcategory of Dividends. It made me think should I have Yields:Dividends:Taxable and Yields:Dividends:Untaxable. So I thought naw. Keep it simple.
Once in a while, when I am in a hurry with splits I might just categorize it in the parent category, but I go back later and move it. So I wouldn't want them to block us using the parent categories. It seems logical that the parent category is a catch-all while the subcategories are more specific.
I just had never thought about doing a report to get anything in the parent category and to choose just some subcategories but not all of them.

Re: Has anyone moved from Quicken Classic to Simplifi?
As Danny says, it's a different kind of product. Just leave your old data behind. I still have Quicken Classic and I maintain both but they are so different.
I did import my 2021 data in November of 2021 using the CSV format, but it took a lot of work. Was it worth it? Yeah, for me, but I was retired. I wouldn't worry about it. After a couple of months, you will have the hang of it.
The Spending Plan makes it worth while. It's much better than old fashioned budgeting in Quicken. QS is improving all the time. QC is pretty much stagnated.

Re: Has anyone moved from Quicken Classic to Simplifi?
I used QC for too many years to count, but when I discovered the Simplifi app it appealed to me enough to purchase a subscription last fall. It was initially quite painful and a tremendous amount of work because it never worked correctly for me. The issues I was having were known, and after several weeks it started working better and better. But, I still ran QC and QS simultaneously because I couldn't completely trust QS. After a few months, 3ish as I recall, it was working so well that I quit using QC and just recently turned off the auto-renewal for it. I'm quite happy that I converted even though there is an occasional glitch. The improvements they make are frequent, and it just gets better and better. I have everything set up how I want it, and I've been on full cruise control for several months.
Re: Has anyone moved from Quicken Classic to Simplifi?
I made the switch in January 2022 and haven't looked back. Quicken Simplifi (QS) is a completely different animal than Quicken Classic (QC) so much so that you can't even import a Quicken Classic data base as you have been informed. I didn't bother with trying to import data older than 90 days directly from my banks and financial institutions. You can import transaction data - follow this link to see how.
