Re: American Express Broken After Adding a New Credit Card
@CericRushmore, thanks for reaching out!
I'd suggest following these steps to establish a completely fresh connection with American Express, and also generate a new OAuth token:
- Navigate to the bank's website, sign in, and then remove Quicken's access from the bank's third-party linked apps.
- While on the bank's website, also make sure the new credit card account is authorized for third-party access.
- Navigate back to Quicken Simplifi and make all of your Amex accounts manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
- If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
Let us know how it goes!

Re: Cash Flow Graph should account for variable (Statement Balance) Credit Card payments each month
Simplifi currently projects future account balances by projecting previous recurring activity using a repeated transaction amount. Some account activity, such as credit card payments, do not have constant recurring values. Projected cash flow would be more accurate if the user can specify an option for a Simplifi to calculate future transaction based upon say the average of the last 3 transactions of that same item.
Re: Wells Fargo not connecting
oh the other bit of feedback would be to have instructions around the recurring bills. I had a few but was not sure if I should reconnect them in fear of confusing or duplicate bills…so I'm in the process of resetting those.
Thanks
Re: Wells Fargo not connecting
So I think I did something wrong. I did step 3,
3. Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
and added account and created NEW accounts, so I can wait for step 4. but I can't find a way to link the new account to the old one. The new accounts seem to have all the old transactions.
So I deleted the NEW accounts and through the QS flow, restarted step 4 AND linked them back to manual accounts. I think it's working now.
Some feedback, step 3 really is part of the workflow in step 4…as QS connects, it brings up the dialog box show here. But what would have been helpful in this link is to understand that this linking process is part of step 3, added a new account, making the new connections.
Thanks.
Max
Re: Just started, but I don't "get" how some things are handled - Questions
@DannyB Has a good explanation of transfers and there is really no other way of doing it because your CC expenses are being downloaded and entered dailey, and that money is gone, just not paid. When you pay it from you bank and look at it in all transactions, you have to have a debit in the bank and a credit in the CC (see DannyB above). Simplifi only shows the debit in the bank account and credit on the CC account. In other areas of Simplifi, you have the option to not show transfers.

Munificent work and news @Coach Natalie! This will make financial conversations sooooo much less stressful and less prone to conflict.
