This suggestion appears to have solved the problem 😀
"If the above steps do not work, the issue may be due to you using more than one set of login credentials for the same instance, in this case, Citi Cards. Are you able to try using a different instance for your secondary credentials, like the Citibank instance?"
I am now using one set of credentials on citibank.com, and using the other with citi.com. I had to also make these accounts manual and re-link them. So far no issues.
Will update if i run into further issues.

Any update on this? It's pending for 2 years. [removed] has started supporting it since last one year.

I just paid for a year only to find out you don't support my bank. Why would it take 4 years to make this happen?
I may need to seek a refund.

It’s been years and Varo Bank is still not supported in Simplifi. Users have been waiting long enough. I moved from another platform specifically to use Simplifi, and I expect Varo to be supported across all Quicken platforms.
Please escalate this request to the product management or development team. This is a critical feature for many users, and we deserve a clear status update or ETA — not just a generic response.
Fellow users: if you’ve also been waiting for Varo Bank support, please comment or upvote this thread so it gets the attention it deserves. The more voices we have, the more likely we’ll see action.

I'm not sure what your appointment is about, but @Coach Natalie just informed me that they were mistaken when they said they weren't seeing flag labels at all in the new version of the register.
So this really is just a "new version" problem that should come down to a simple label or color correction. Problem solved (this one, anyway).
