Re: Ability to Split Categories in Category Rules (edited)
I have the same frustration for recurring transactions as well. My rent is all inclusive but I categorize individual items, such as rent; electric; water; etc. As such I must create individual planned, recurring transactions for each of those 8 other categories rather than doing it once.

Re: Rollover Help
Many users find the relationship (or lack thereof) between their checking accounts and the Spending Plan confusing. They try to find ways to hack the Spending Plan to make it reflect what's really in their checking accounts (for example). It hasn't worked well so far and it seems to lead to frustration.
That's because, in it's most basic form, Spending Plan focuses on each month as a separate financial "game." It scores each month's game by looking at how much income you have that month versus how much you spend* that month. If income exceeds spending, the "Left this month" figure is positive and you win that month's game.
Notice that none of that tells you how much money you had in your checking account at the beginning or end of the month. What it does tell you is whether, in the long run, your account balances should be going up or down as a result of how you played the game over the intervening months.**
= = = = = =
* "Spending" includes specific Bills you pay, flexible amounts you plan for in Planned Spend, unplanned amounts in Other Spend, and money you set aside in Goals to use later.
** You can also exclude transactions from Spending Plan, meaning they will affect your checking account balance but not your Spending Plan numbers. For example, credit cards purchases are included and affect your Spending Plan but not your bank account, while payments on the credit card are excluded and affect your bank account but not your Spending Plan.

Re: Transaction registers: we'd love your input
The projected cash flow shows balances into the future based on reccurring bills similar to what you had in Quicken Classic.

Transaction registers: we'd love your input
Hi there,
I'm Kirby. I work in product management. While I have a long history with Quicken (worked at Intuit after college), I'm newly working on Simplifi.
I'd love to meet you all and get your thoughts on some changes that are planned for the transaction register.
If you have time and are wiling to try out the changes in your Simplifi account, I'd love to have you [removed link - sessions closed].
In the session, I'll turn on the feature for you (it won't harm your data), and I can turn it off again quickly, if you like.
We are always eager to hear from you, and to check our planned improvements with you. Thanks in advance for your support of Quicken and I look forward to talking.
Re: Issue connecting two logins with Vanguard (edited)
Thanks for the update to your post, @t975! I used to actually have a Vanguard Small Business account, so I had presumed it was as separate in Simplifi as it was with Vanguard back when I had it. I do not currently have a Vanguard Small Business account, but I was able to sign in to one of my Vanguard accounts using that institution and the other using the standard Vanguard option. In case a visual helps anyone else, this is what is working as of this precise moment. Who knows when it might break? LOL
Re: Issue connecting two logins with Vanguard (edited)
same issue. Can’t have both Vanguard accounts, disconnects the other one. Tried connecting one from the app and the other from a separate computer browser.
Update: got the work around to work. using vanguard small business for one account, on a separate device. Now they show up as separate accounts (Vanguard for one, Vanguard Small Business for the other)
Re: Don't close modal windows when clicking outside of them; add a confirmation (edited)
I have accidentally clicked outside of the Transaction Detail window many times, and it's always driven me nuts that it closes it and loses all of my changes. This definitely has my vote!
