Re: Allow users to classify an Investment Account as a non-investment account
@SRC54 and @WJB - Thank you for responding to my related post, although I think my post goes a bit further regarding this issue (brokerage accounts that also function as cash accounts) and suggests that Simplifi already has all the data needed to enable brokerage accounts’ cash transactions to be identified as such and treated as any other cash transactions is treated regardless of the account it resides in. I’ve upvoted your request. However, I think a more helpful feature would be to govern treatment of transactions at the transaction level rather than the account level.
See post here:
I should add that I know I can check a few boxes to include/exclude some cash transactions in brokerage accounts from reporting, but this does not solve the full set of problems with the current lack of functionality (as explained in my post).
I should also add that I am a LONG time Quicken Classic user, and I am trying to set my kids up with Quicken Simplifi. I REALLY want it to work for them. But it doesn’t, largely b/c of problems like this.
Re: Allow users to classify an Investment Account as a non-investment account
@SRC54 and @WJB - How about a feature upgrade along these lines… maybe we collaborate a little in the comments on its design…
If agreed, appreciate upvote
Re: Multi-currency support
"once you select the currency you want to use, it will support only that currency (USD or CAD, but not both)."
I have both USD and CAD accounts. Simplifi works with both in the same dataset and downloads from both US and CDN banks at the same time without difficulty. The ability to download from both USD and CAD accounts was a big factor in my move to Simplifi.
The only problem is that the account balances can be deceiving, as Simplifi is not aware of the currency and makes no adjustments for exchange rates. That makes linked transfers a problem, but otherwise all works well. I generate separate reports on my USD and CAD accounts so I get meaningful results.

Re: Problematic connection to Firstrade account [FPD-155]
Hi Kristina,
According to my Simplifi money account, the last successful connection to Firstrade was 100 days ago. I haven't made any changes to both Firstrade and Simplifi accounts since last year.
I tried to connect Firstrade with Simplifi through your web app and this connection hasn't affect my Firstrade login since the creation of the account.
Thanks for the update. I have sent the feedback. Hope to hear back from your soon.
Re: Bill Connect for Credit Cards: Share your feedback here!
Just scrolling through this thread for first time and wanted to provide feedback that I had it doing the same thing you are reporting where it basically was a month off (i.e. marking current month reminder as "finalized", i.e. the July payment reminder for the June credit card expenses, when not and marking the following month's reminder, i.e. the August payment reminder for July credit card expenses, as the one updating. I tested it across a billing cycle for two of my credit cards and never could get it to fix. Deleted series and all things/recreated series and all things/changed settings/waited. Did most of this in June through early July but started playing with it back in May. Tried everything reasonable to try. So I turned the feature off and just do my manual updates on my reminders at the end of each month. Much less error-prone that way and doesn't mess with Cash Flow monitoring when updating manually. With the errors, it wasn't worth continuing to play with it.
But even if it had worked correctly, I found it difficult to maintain my Cash Flow projections with this feature on. It'd be nice if you could have the Cash Flow projections maintain a 'minimum payment" amount in the credit card payment reminders that you could manually adjust and only adjust the credit card payment total once you've exceeded that minimum amount or after the bill has finalized. this way, your Cash Flow doesn't deceive you early in the month thinking you have more money available to transfer to savings or whatever than will actually occur once the month progresses.
Re: Report export no longer showing parent category for subcategories (edited)
Here's a bit more, when I run an export from the Transactions page, the Category shows the main and sub titles.
When I run the report from the Reports section, it only shows the SUB Category.
I too would want the Reports to show Category and Subcategory.
This would be critical in the CSV to able to sort a column by category. Without the main category, you can't tell what was in "Shopping" for instance.
Re: Multi-currency support
No, it is single currency only. Multi-currency has been requested since 2019, but it hasn't happened.

Re: Annual Spending Plan
@Max1223 There are a couple of suggestions for improving Savings Goals (I link one below). Together they have about 100 upvotes. But there is no sign of them being submitted for review (or whatever). It could be a long time before there is any real change.

Re: Annual Spending Plan
@DannyB @DryHeat so I just did a little Test SG…while I like that I see the account balances shift, that's about all I like about it…oh well. Sticking with Rollovers for now. thanks for the input
