Re: FDP-155 with PenFed

Hi all, I contacted PenFed yesterday and received this back:

"Thank you for contacting PenFed.

PenFed made the decision to disallow aggregators from accessing PenFed Online through direct integration. The technical method by which aggregators extract account data (called screen-scraping) does not align with our internal information security standards, and was disabled in order to protect our members and their data."

Very disappointing to hear, unfortunately I'll be looking for a new banking provider over this. I highly encourage PenFed customers to make their opinion known on this matter, and maybe some change can come about.

@movieman12345, thank you!

I got this issue escalated and will let you know when there are updates.

Re: Using "Add Account" window when reconnecting accounts

@DryHeat, thanks for posting your inquiry to the Community!

Can you clarify where you see an "X" in the Account Discovery screen? There is a checkbox that can be used if you don't want to add an account. Unchecking the box to the left of the account will ignore it. The other accounts listed below in the section called "Accounts already connected to Simplifi for this username" are already connected in Quicken Simplifi and cannot be added or removed during Account Discovery.

Re: Ability to add Planned Spending Items to our Projected Cash Flow [edited] (4 Merged Votes)

Rob, someone with $2500 in planned spending on monthly basis will always have a 2500 discrepancy in their cash balance forecast. this is just a fact. There are at least 4 other finance software programs that I'm aware of that incorporate a cash balance forecast similar to simplifi that include budgeted spending… ALL of it, not just specific expenses. Budget for groceries is still spending, correct? It still affects your cash balance. Shouldn't it be incorporated?

To answer your question, it is incorporated in the other programs in a couple ways. One, as a one time expense at a date of your discretion. Another takes the monthly spend and divides it to a daily value and deducts it that manner. As a monthly grocery budget would likely not come out one given day. There are a few ways to do it. The folks on here supporting this are just asking for SOMETHING. And it could certainly be something you can have turned off if you don't want it to be incorporated, as in your case. Adding in a note about voting "against" it now is frankly petty, as this software should be for everyone, and clearly many find the feature useful. You not finding it useful is your own business.

Last point, your no vote won't matter. This has been sitting at "in review" for 3 years. And with no roadmap available for us (another feature that has been "in review" or otherwise, for years), we can't see the future of this software, making it a risky purchase. Other software I'm testing is more actively developed at this point and already includes true cash balance forecasting. I'm finishing out my annual subscription hoping for some change in this, but not expecting to see it.

Re: Missing the other side of recurring reminder transfers

Hello @RobWilk,

Thanks for the reply. I am still unable to reproduce this issue on our side. At this point, I would suggest keeping an eye out for future occurrences of this happening, and if it does, provide more information/evidence on the specifics of the issue. For example, I would provide the original dates of the reminders that you edited, as well as screenshots showing the original dates within the reminder carousel, as additions to what you have already provided, in the future.

Additionally, I would also avoid deleting any data provided while we are investigating the cause, as we need every bit of data we can get in order to escalate.

For the remaining instance, I would suggest deleting and recreating the next reminder instance by editing the series so that the one remaining anomaly is corrected and so that you can keep an eye on things moving forward! I hope this makes sense!

Re: Automatic Car Value Tracking

agree that this should be a feature for business users with the business and personal version. If the feature results in a higher subscription fee, the personal only users should have an option to opt out.

Re: Net Income Report needs Year to date feature

Agree with @Coach Kristina however if the idea was instead that it should have a 'last 12 months' option, I believe there is an idea for that already.. I am not sure this is what was being asked for, I doubt it actually, but just in case I thought I would push this idea post:

Re: Automatic Car Value Tracking

Not who you directed it to but I'm a business owner that has to provide financial disclosures for bank LOCs (yes, personally guaranteed) and the Net worth report meets this need for me assuming I have everything in it (yes including assets and liabilities - all of them). What they ask is extremely complete and missing something like a vehicle asset can put you on the bad boy list 😕
