Re: Creating Manual Investment Account - Balance showing zero, no shares
@SRC54 Thank you so much! Glad I was t losing my mind and missing something! Looks like I’ll stick to automated download for now. I appreciate your help on this and your description is dead on. It really a good deal, but as with everything, the software they use to allow us to download data is far behind everyone else…
Re: Creating Manual Investment Account - Balance showing zero, no shares
I made a test investment account with the name C Fund, and it would not let me. I have tried several workarounds, and so far the only thing I could do is just set a cash amount. That would at least allow you to update the value of the account until Simplifi adds these funds to their list or allows the user to create their own funds.
I found this online:
The TSP C Fund, which is the Common Stock Index Investment Fund, tracks the S&P 500 Index. While the TSP funds do not have official ticker symbols, the equivalent ticker symbol for the S&P 500 Index is $SPX. This symbol can be used for tracking purposes on various financial platforms.
I tried entering $SPX and it didn't work either. I am still looking for a workaround. I tried it in Quicken Classic and couldn't find it either, and though I was able there to create a C Fund, it didn't add it to holdings or to the overall value.
I read up on the Thrift Savings Plan in Wikipedia. It sounds like a smart deal. And they do let you invest a small portion in private mutual funds too.
My dad was civil service, and retired in 1972 on disability. He lived until 2019 so he collected his pension for 57 years. He was only 49 when he retired. Long before they had a 401K offering. I have some family members to work for the Post Office.
You may just be better off using the TSP connection even with its limitations. I use Fidelity and it too has limitations. Simplifi was designed with minimal investment features although they have added more since it was released.
Good luck with this, and welcome to Simplifi. Hope you can find a workaround until Quicken adds your funds.

Re: Watchlists: Better Calculations for 'Projected' amount (edited)
The amount a Watchlist projects for the month should be the sum of two things:
(1) The amount of recurring bills and subscriptions that fit the Watchlist categories. This does not need to be adjusted. It already represents the full amount scheduled for the month.
(2) The amount of spending so far in those categories that is not a recurring bill or subscription. This does need to be adjusted. Simplifi currently uses the formula "spending * (days in month/days so far)" and that is probably as good as any.
Calculating the projection this way would still be problematic if you have a large, unscheduled expense come up, but it would at least avoid the worst pitfalls.

Guideline - Care Code: 324/FDP-4000 after being acquired by Accrue
Probably won't sign up unless it's integrated
it used to be called guideline - it manages 401k plans
Thanks!
Re: Raymond James Invest CA - unable to connect, Care code: FDP-155 (edited)
Will do thank you.
Re: Manually updating TSP Investments with number of shares/cost each payperiod
i think I figured it out. For some reason I’m having an easier time doing it on the iOS app versus the website version
Re: Teacher Retirement System of Texas Doesn't Connect (Finicity 170 error)
Hi @Coach Natalie ,
I tried again today, and it magically went through. It looks like it might have been a temporary issue, but it was one that was certainly persisting over multiple days.
I was trying to set up the account for the FIRST time . . . I had not connected previously.
Re: Unable to add Synchrony Store Cards to Simplifi
I think similar problems have been reported. Did you do a search for Synchrony to read the other conversations? If not, do so to see if any of that is helpful.

Re: Unable to add Synchrony Store Cards to Simplifi
I have a couple of Synchrony store cards but don't bother connecting them to QS since we don't use them often enough to make it worth the effort. I also have savings accounts with Synchrony and if the credit card side is anything like the savings account side, at best Synchrony is unstable and has had a history of not playing well with online 3rd party connections. This is not unique to QS, I have problems with other apps that I connect to my FIs and Synchrony is always a problem child.
I am connected, but it's iffy.
