Re: Link from Transaction to 'take from' or 'add to' Savings Goal (1 Merged Vote)
Is there any way to know where this is on the product roadmap? Is this feature or something similar 1-3 months, 3-6 months, or 6+ months away from release?
The lack of this feature is preventing me from recommending this product to my colleagues, friends, and family. From the ones I have shown the app to all agreed that without this feature they would be unwilling to purchase a subscription. For the reasons listed above and all the other threads related to saving goals.Without this feature this product is not different then other free tools on the market.

Re: Break down Annual/Bi-Annual Expenses to a monthly amount in Spending Plan [edited] (6 Merged Votes)
Its not that complicated.
As stated, Simplifi currently forces users to choose between:
Using Savings Goals, which removes the expense from the regular Spending Plan, or Letting large annual/biannual bills appear as a single massive hit in the month they’re paid. Neither option reflects how people actually budget. Most users want these expenses allocated monthly so they can see their true monthly cost of living, while keeping all spending inside the Spending Plan—not in savings.
Proposed Solution
When setting up a recurring bill, add:
- Amount
- Pay date
- Frequency: Annual / Biannual / Quarterly / Monthly
- New toggle: “Apply this bill evenly to monthly spending”
Behavior when toggle is ON:
Simplifi divides the bill into equal monthly portions (e.g., $1,200 annual → $100/mo).
Each month’s Spending Plan includes the monthly portion as a planned expense.
The accrued running total rolls forward until the pay date.
When the bill is paid, Simplifi asks: “Would you like to set this up again for next year?”
Key point:
This does not use Savings Goals—so spending remains categorized and visible.
Benefits
True monthly budgeting: Reflects actual cost of living without hacks or workarounds.
No Savings Goal misuse: Keeps savings tools for true savings, not predictable bills.
Cleaner UX: Leverages the existing recurring bill system—minimal development lift.
Greater accuracy: Eliminates massive budget spikes in annual or biannual months.
User trust: Aligns Simplifi with how real-world budgeting is done.
Example
Property tax: $1,000 annually
User enters $1,000
Selects Annual
Turns ON “Apply to monthly spending”
Simplifi auto-allocates $83.33/mo into the Spending Plan
When the bill is paid, system prompts:
“Set this up again for next year?”
Why This Matters
This small enhancement solves one of the most common pain points for budget-conscious users:
Maintaining an accurate, month-to-month Spending Plan that includes all recurring expenses—no matter the interval.

Thank you, Coach Natalie. [removed - disruptive]
Re: How long should a bank connection to be down? FirstBank of Colorado is now near 4wks.
@FortDog88, thanks for reaching out to the Community with your inquiry!
We definitely understand how frustrating ongoing connection issues can be, and apologize for the disruption. Unfortunately, our teams don't provide ETAs for these types of issues. As soon as we have any news to share, including a resolution, it will be posted to the Alert:
In the meantime, you can track the account manually to keep your records up-to-date. Here is our help article on adding manual transactions in Quicken Simplifi:
Thank you for your continued patience as we work to resolve this matter!
Re: Pending Transactions showing reversed (ie: as positive instead of negative) on multiple accounts
Hello @SmittyVA,
Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and experience!
I would like to sincerely apologize for the poor support experience you encountered. It is never our intention to leave a user feeling unheard or frustrated, especially when you are trying to help improve the product.
Regarding the issue with pending transactions showing reversed signs, I want to clarify that this is not a widespread issue that we are aware of being reported by other users. While we understand you have seen similar discussions, our current internal data does not indicate a broad occurrence of this specific behavior across our user base. We do appreciate you bringing this to our attention, however.
Did you try establishing a fresh connection by making the accounts manual and re-linking to see if that fixes the current issue you are seeing? The instructions to do that are:
- Make all of the accounts with the bank manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
- If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
I would do the above steps and keep an eye on things going forward in the meantime. If the issue persists after doing so, you will need to create a separate post for each bank and provide specific examples showing the issue so we can clearly see what is occurring, perform proper troubleshooting, and review the cases for escalation, if needed.
Thank you!

Re: Categorizing Pending Transactions on a Credit Card causes transactions to disappear
@OldTimeQuickUser, thank you for reaching out to the Community with this issue!
I’m really sorry for the experience you had with our Support Team. After reviewing the interaction, I’d be frustrated too, and I can see why it left you feeling discouraged. Quicken Simplifi should work reliably for you, and disappearing transactions are not expected. I’ve passed this along to our leadership team for review and coaching.
With that, we'd be happy to take a look at the issue you're experiencing. As just mentioned, transactions should not be disappearing from Quicken Simplifi for any reason (unless you are intentionally deleting them), and I can also confirm that editing transactions while they're in a 'pending' state should be no different than when they're 'cleared'.
To help narrow down the issue, please provide some additional insight:
- Is the issue happening with a certain bank, or are you seeing it with multiple banks?
- Is the issue happening with a certain account, or are you seeing it with multiple accounts?
- What types of edits are you making to the transactions while they're pending, i.e., are you just changing the category, or are you also editing the date or making other changes?
- For the bank or account where this is happening, does the issue occur every time or just occasionally?
We look forward to hearing back from you!
Re: More detailed CSV Exports (original name and description, flags, reviewed, check number)
Prioritizing making it easier to move to a competitor seems .. unlikely but at the same time may be something they should have working. The ability to backup/restore (another idea post) would seem to be addressed by having full export/import working.

Re: More detailed CSV Exports (original name and description, flags, reviewed, check number)
I agree with @RobWilk that the most important reason for more comprehensive CSV exports is to allow users to periodically back up their data so that they can restore it in Simplifi if they encounter corruption.
Comprehensive CSVs can also be used for more detailed (or just different) reporting (for example, in Excel).
Also, I have comprehensive CSVs from my previous financial software and their main purpose for me (so far) is as an easily accessible historical record.

New Feature Alert: Enhanced Reports!
With Early Access enabled, Web App users will see a new “Beta” toggle we have upgraded most of the reports in the Reports section. Turning this on unlocks more robust versions of the following Reports:
- Spending
- Income
- Savings
- Net Worth
What's New
- These Reports now follow the same layout as the current Income & Expense and Taxes Reports (and Profit & Loss for Quicken Business & Personal users), presenting your data in a clean, hierarchical table.
- New view options are available, including the ability to hide cents, alternate row colors, and adjust row height for a more customized experience.
- We've added an 'Account' breakdown option to the Spending and Income Reports, making it easier than ever to analyze your finances at the account level.
- We’ve also added new interval options to the Savings and Net Worth Reports, allowing you to break down your data in the way that’s most meaningful to you.
- Finally, these Reports can now be exported directly to CSV or Excel, making it even easier to analyze your information or share it elsewhere.
This is just the first phase of bringing more powerful reporting tools to Quicken Simplifi! We’ll continue enhancing the Reports experience, and we’d love your input. Click the link below to share what additional improvements you’d like to see!
