Re: Recurring monthly bill not accurately reflected in Cashflow...
@cloudquick, I'm glad to hear that editing the Reminder fixed the issue for you!
It's up to you whether you want to use Bill Connect for Credit Cards. Our support article here has more information on this feature so that you can make an educated decision:
I hope this helps!
Re: Will Bills in spending plan automatically update based on changes made to recurring bills?
Yep, I actually deliberately use the payee SSA (it used to be the whole thing Social Security Administration), and until my wife started on SS, I had the recurring with the same name. The two things are independent, but it is up to the user.
For example, I have hers categorized as Social Security (LRC) and mine is Social Security (SRC) so it keeps it separate in the reports purely because I use this when I prepare my taxes.
I try to keep my payees simple and consistent, which is not easy.

Re: Will Bills in spending plan automatically update based on changes made to recurring bills?
I just checked and I'm not seeing the same behavior. My wife and I both receive Social Security, and my recurring series is SSA-TAB and SSA-DAB. Upon receipt of the payments the Series names remain the same. But, I do have a renaming rule for those transactions that change the payee's name respectively.
I thought, but didn't include in my first comment that if @cloudquick has rules set up for the various recurring transactions the rules may also be affecting the outcome.

Re: Unable to change the category on a linked refund (edited)
I saw the Categories screenshot, but it didn't show all the nested categories. Still, sounds like none of the hidden ones match what you are seeing. Weird.
And I guess you mean that clicking on the "View Invoice" link doesn't do anything. That's also weird. My transactions don't show that link unless the transaction is linked to an invoice. They show this:
instead of this:
Nothing about that transaction seems right. Sorry I can't help.

@cloudquick I hope it helped. A stopped clock is right 2x a day. I still have egg on my face from 7-10 days ago when I was handing out erroneous information to a new user. 😐️
It takes a while to get used to the Spending Plan and how recurring transactions work. I usually keep the name of the recurring and the payee the same, but it can come in handy sometimes to give the recurring series a more descriptive name. Somewhere here is a post about how I finally learned to love the Spending Plan, because at first I was flummoxed by it. Tailoring it to our individual needs is what it is all about.
Danny, Dryheat and many other users here have lots of years using financial apps in addition to Simplifi, and nothing beats experience!

Re: Create a Rule with AND condition instead or OR
Thanks for the research and replies. After more research, I believe the support article should reference "AND" instead of "OR" when referencing keywords for rules. I will be sure to let the team know so that this can be corrected.

Thanks, all. Really appreciate it!
Re: Remove Business from Space or Fresh Restart
I understand that you would like to get rid of the business-related Categories in your personal Space so that they will not complicate the interface and be confusing to the user.
I did an experiment by deleting an unused Business Category in my personal Space. When I went to my business Space I found that the category was still there. I only did one test, so I'm not 100% confident of how this works. But you might be able to get rid of most** of the Business Categories in your personal Space without losing the ability to use them in the business Space.
Perhaps a coach can confirm that the Category lists in each space are independent of one another.
(**Others have pointed out that some of the Business Categories cannot be deleted.)

Re: Create a Rule with AND condition instead or OR
Thanks.
Good question. Hypothetically the separate "OR" condition would be mutually exclusive but I can imagine a scenario like what you outlined. Intuitively I would imagine the execution order of the rules IS a factor and the last rule to be a match would be the final category assigned but harder to prove using my testing method since I manually ran the single updated rule(s) for testing purposes then observed the results.
This is worth setting up a real life test! I'm off to work for now but will set something up later and report back results. Stay tuned!
Re: Remove Business from Space or Fresh Restart
Thank you for your reply,
If you already have your business information set up in the existing Space you have set up, have you considered creating a new Space and setting up just the personal accounts there? For information on creating a new space, see this article:
Once you have a space that is personal only, you'd be able to share that space with your wife. For information on sharing a space, please review this article:
I hope this helps!
