Re: Add exclusion criteria to Transaction Rules (edited)
I have had the same problem and I hope some general solution is found for it.
But there may be another way this could be handled. Simplifi could allow users to specify the order in which Rules are applied. If that were possible (and assuming the first matching rule controls), your Amazon/Audible issue could be handled like this:
- Rule 1: Match transactions that contain "Audible".
- Rule 2: Match transactions that contain "Amazon".
Your Audible transaction would match Rule 1 and be modified by that rule. Non-Audible Amazon transactions would "fall through" to Rule 2 and be matched and modified by it.
@geekcred is doing some tests to see if rules are actually being applied in the order they appear in the Rules list (see discussion below). If they are, you could solve your immediate problem by adding Rule 2 first, then adding Rule 1 (so Rule 1 will be at the top of the list). That might be worth a try.
I suggested that users be able to manually change the order of Rule application:

Re: Savings Goals are incorrect if you withdraw
I have also found the withdrawal process a little confusing. The "Withdraw from goal" menu item brings up the following window:
Do you think it would be better if the "Spend a custom amount" choice were labeled "Withdraw to spend on the goal" instead? That would contrast better with "Withdraw for something else."

Re: Savings Goals are incorrect if you withdraw
@Greg-n-Texas, thanks for the reply!
It is technically in the same menu; once you click on "Withdraw from goal", you are presented with both of the withdrawal options:
If you'd like to request that the withdrawal options be added to the main three-dot menu of Savings Goals, you may do so by creating an Idea post. Idea posts allow other users to vote on your suggestion, as well as allows our product team to get an idea of the features users would like to see.
I hope this helps!
Re: Merrill Lynch LMA loan account downloads as a positive number (edited)
Hi Jon,
Yes it shows up as a positive number at ML. I don't know why ML does this but it seems incorrect. I never thought much of it since I never had to manage it with accounting SW.
All I can think to do to make my dashboard accurate is to create a manual account.
Thanks for looking at it. Next time I talk to my advisor, I'll ask him about it.
Regards,
Greg
Re: How to identify a subscription
@SRC54, that totally makes sense! Thanks for clarifying. 🙂
@N4KHQ, I think the bottom line is you have full control over how your Recurring Subscriptions display, as well as how the linked transactions display. Renaming these items to better clarify what they are is definitely the route I'd recommend!
Wealthsimple
I am unable to connect to wealthsimple. It’s asking for a mint token instead of a password
What is the eta to have this corrected
Wealthsimple Integration
I’m attempting to add my financial institution (Wealthsimple) and Quicken asks for a mint token.
Your support states that this is being worked on, but I wanted to post here to make the desire to add this integration known.
I also contacted Wealthsimple support, they said the following:
“On November 1st, Intuit, Mint's parent company, announced that they will be shutting down Mint on January 1st, 2024. As a result, we are no longer able to support Mint integration with Wealthsimple. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.
We no longer offer Mint tokens as that platform has been discontinued by its parent company.”
The onus is clearly on Quicken here to fix this - can someone please tell me if I should expect this feature at some point?
Re: How to identify a subscription
@N4KHQ, thanks for posting your inquiry to the Community!
To clarify, are you referring to showing the Tag that is assigned to a Recurring Subscription Series as a column on the All Recurring > Subscriptions page? If so, I don't see that this is available in Quicken Simplifi, so you're welcome to create an Idea post to request it:
Otherwise, assuming that you're referring to Recurring Subscription Series, I would personally recommend assigning each one a distinct name. I have a couple of Amazon subscriptions — Amazon Prime and Amazon Music — and I name each of my Recurring Series accordingly. Doing so tells me exactly what each subscription is for.
I hope this helps!
