Mobile App/Android: Add switch to enable screenshots (edited)
In the android app, screen shots are not allowed. Since there is no way to print or export a report, a screen shot is an easy workaround until that feature is (hopefully) added. A button or switch under settings could be used to enable or disable it and it could be disabled by default. Then the user can decide to enable screen shots if desired.

@wkh, thanks for posting your suggestion to the Community!
I went ahead and moved this out of Feature Requests for now so we can do some troubleshooting. I'm personally on an Android device and don't have any problem taking screenshots in the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App, so I don't think this is a Quicken Simplifi thing.
For example, here's a screenshot from one of my accounts:
We've also had many users send us screenshots of the Mobile App. With that, I wonder if there may be something in your device settings that's preventing the screenshots. Do you receive a specific message or anything along those lines? What type of phone do you have?
Please let us know so we can best assist!

Hi. When I try to take a screenshot, it says “Disabled by your admin”. This is on a Motorola Edge phone with Android 13. It does the same thing on my Google Pixel Tablet, but not on my iPad. Any screen shots I have forwarded were from my iPad. I can’t find any settings in android that turns this on or off based on the app, but I will do more searching to see if I can find a way. Thanks for letting me know. Oh - I can take a screenshot using the web app, but not the android app.

@wkh, sounds good.
Let us know if you find anything. If not, we can turn this back into a Feature Request. 🙂

was curious … found this with a Search ?
Method 1: Using Settings (if available)- Open Settings: Go to your device’s Settings app.
- Find Advanced Features: Look for Advanced Features or Gestures.
- Screenshots: If there’s an option for Screenshots, you may find a toggle to disable it.

I don't have any of those options.

do you have a corporate/school email account on your device? Like an exchange or google workplace account? Some of those limit stuff like this. The admin of those accounts are in charge of that setting.

No. This is a personal device with a clean install of Android 13.

My research indicates this is enforced in android through a flag set by the app developers called FLAG_SECURE. The only way to disable it is if the developer turns that off, 3rd party apps that can disable it (not recommended) or rooting your phone. I'm not interested in the last 2. There is no setting on my (Motorola) phone to disable that. See attached.

Interesting, the flag_secure looks like an Android 13 thing. I have an Android 10 device and I took a screenshot for a report with no issue.

It looks like this is enforced differently by different manufacturers. I checked a Samsung with Android 14 and I AM allowed to take screen shots. My Google Pixel tablet with Android 14 will now also allow screenshots, although it didn't a few weeks ago. I notice it just updated the Simplifi app 2 days ago, so maybe something changed in that update.
So now, my Android 13 Motorola Edge 2022 is the only one not allowing screen shots 😵💫. It does have the latest version of the Simplifi app, so maybe some combination of OS, phone model and app version is causing this.
