Missing Alight Solutions - Siemen - Couldn't connect to your institution error (edited)

Same as many others - this time for Siemens. Simplifi won't capture the data provided by Alight-Siemens.

    Thanks for reaching out! When checking from our side, I can see an error for you when you try connecting to Alight Solutions - Siemens in Quicken Simplifi. I can see that it has been occurring as of today. This may be a temporary error, since the error indicates to try again at a later time.

    In this case, I would allow 24-48 hours for the issue to resolve. If it is still persisting after waiting, be sure to let us know. If you can provide a screenshot of the error from your side at that time, that would also be helpful!

  • I have been trying to access Siemens-Alight for several months and gotten the same error - it isn't new.

    Thanks for the reply! As far as user activity for you with Alight - Siemens, I am not seeing anything beyond today from our side, at least. If you can provide the error screenshot I requested, and wait the 24-48 hours, we should be able to get this issue reported if the issue persists, since we would have a timeline established at that point. Let us know!

    Thank you for the update! I am no longer seeing an error when you try connecting to Alight - Siemens in Quicken Simplifi. Can you let us know if you have been able to successfully connect in the past, or if it has always been this way?

    Can you also provide the following information so that we can get this issue reported? Feel free to send this information via DM!

    • The name of the account(s), as it appears in Quicken Simplifi.
    • The name of the account(s), as it appears on the bank's website.
    • Has there been any activity in the account in the last 90 days?
    • Have there been any recent changes made to the bank's website or its sign-in process?
    • What is the exact URL you use to log in to your account on the bank's website?
    • A screenshot of the Accounts Summary page from the bank's website that has a wide enough scope to show the full page URL. This is the landing page after signing in, and typically lists all accounts and balances. You will want to take this from a web browser and not a mobile browser, as well as redact any private info such as account numbers.

    We will also need logs to be sent:

    1. Log in to the Quicken Simplifi Web App.
    2. Select Profile from the left-hand navigation bar.
    3. With the Profile menu open, hold down the Option key for Mac or the Alt key for Windows, and then click Send Feedback.
    4. Leave all boxes checked, add a brief description of the issue, and then click Send.

    I apologize for the confusion. We do not need your Quicken ID. We need the name of the account, as it appears in Quicken Simplifi, if the account is in the application already.

  • Followed the instructions in the "Logs sent" section - all four steps complete.

    The Siemens-Alight account is not in the application - never has been - as it fails to grab the required data and load it (hence this entire thread).

    Thank you for confirming and sending the logs! Can you please verify if the 'Bank website(Alight) Account name' you sent was your login, or if that is the actual name of the account? I went ahead and removed it just in case to be safe. If it were your login, what we actually need is the name that shows up for that account on the bank's website. Let us know!

  • My log-in name for Siemens-Alight is not my email address, but is the same as my Quicken user profile.

    We are not looking for your login name or Quicken ID credentials. All we need is the name that shows up when you select the account on your bank's website. For example, when I select my Capital One checking account, it shows as "360 Checking". I hope that makes more sense!

  • Once I am on the Alight site, I click on 401(k) Account Summary link and it takes me to a new page with the "name" Savings and Retirement. On that page i can see my Siemens savings plan vested balance, as well as my rate of return, investment mix, etc. At the top of the page i can also see the total in my "non qualified plan" - which shows only the remaining balance of my deferred comp. It does not show investment mix, etc. I need to click on the link to that non qualified plan to get those details.

    It sounds like the name of the account may be "Savings and Retirement". I did get this issue reported to my product team and will be sure to follow up with any updates going forward here!

  • The interface between Quicken/Simplifi and Alight/Plaid has changed since we started this string. Now I am getting additional security screening each time I try to add the Alight account to my Simplifi - but the same error eventually comes up (cannot connect to your institution). I'll keep trying for a little longer.

  • I'm still getting the "Couldn't Connect to your Institution" error. I know it takes some effort to overcome the technical barriers - but given it's been more than a month, I will assume it is unsolvable for the Quicken technical team.
