Conversational AI Analytics
I would really like to be able to use an AI chat to find answers to questions about my finances and generate reports as spreadsheets. Eventually, this could also perform actions such as "Add X tag to all expenses on Y dates".

Hello to everyone and developers:
Are you working AI regenerative development and when can we expect end user capabilities to be able to interact with our financial data. For instance, being able to ask how much I am spending in a specific category, pull back specific data I need to make decisions. I see other AI products offer this type of interaction but I don't trust them as I do with Quicken.
I am not referring to bots, AI assistant. I am referring to AI generative models.
Thank you!

I was a 32 year user of Quicken software. I know it quite well. I decided it was unnecessarily bloated for me and so I downloaded and set up Simplify. I realized how much simpler it would be if the team seamlessly integrated AI into the tool — especially for initial set up, but then also to properly categorize transactions, assets, etc initially and of course… over time. Here is how it could be helpful…
This is based on my recent experience setting up complex rental tracking, below is a list of Top 10 benefits highlighting how AI would solve specific Simplifi pain points.
Subject: Top 10 Reasons Simplifi Needs Native AI Integration
Here are the top 10 benefits of integrating AI into Simplifi to help new users get set up and keep transactions organized:
- Natural Language Setup: Instead of hunting through menus, new users could just tell the AI, "I have two rental properties and a vacation home," and have it auto-generate the correct folders, tags, and accounts instantly.
- Complex Rule Building: AI can write the "If/Then" logic for you. You could say, "Tag all $2,400 Venmo deposits as Rent for Unit 3," and it would build the precise rule without you touching a dropdown menu.
- Smart Transaction Renaming: AI can look at messy bank descriptions (e.g., "ACH WDL ROCKET MTG 8839") and intelligently rename them to human-readable names like "Mortgage – Wisconsin Home" based on your history.
- Auto-Splitting Shared Bills: For expenses like a combined HVAC plan, AI could automatically split a single transaction into multiple categories or properties based on a simple instruction like "Split this bill 50/50 between Unit 3 and 13."
- Context-Aware Categorization: AI understands context better than strict rules. It could tell the difference between a Home Depot purchase for "Repairs" vs. one for "Gardening" based on the amount or frequency.
- Instant Reporting: Instead of manually filtering tags and dates, you could ask, "Show me the Net Income for Unit 3 last year," and get an instant P&L chart.
- Duplicate Detection: AI is excellent at spotting duplicate data entries or recurring bills that were accidentally counted twice, saving hours of troubleshooting.
- Proactive Setup Suggestions: When you add a mortgage, the AI could suggest, "Do you want to set up a recurring Transfer for the principal payment to track your equity?"
- Missing Transaction Alerts: It could learn your schedule and alert you: "You usually get a rent check on the 1st, but it hasn't arrived yet."
- Tax-Ready Tagging: It could scan your year's activity and suggest missing tags for tax-deductible items, ensuring you don't miss expenses on your Schedule E.
Thoughts? If I were running the business, I would halt everything else and get this integrated. Every competitor will do it. Always better to be first than left in the dust. It reminds me of May 26, 1995 when Bill Gates went on a trip to a Cornell university and realized the students were all using the internet — calling it a 'tidal wave'. He returned to Seattle and completely redirected the MS Office team to fully integrate the internet into the MS Office Suite. Same thing here. Quicken - you have the opportunity to have the first mover advantage. Do it - NOW.
