Recurring income set up

I've been trying different things to overcome the issue that Simplifi will not reflect the available income in my Wells Fargo checking account, occurring because Wells Fargo recognizes direct deposits as available to use two banking days before the deposit posts but Simplifi can only use the actual Wells Fargo posting date, because I want my Projected Cash Flow graph to show what is truly available to me to use to pay bills on any given date. In this process of searching, I have tried setting up recurring income transactions to record my three direct deposits feeding into Wells Fargo. I have found that no matter if I choose a monthly frequency to occur on a particular day of the month, Simplifi automatically changes the setup to recur at 2 weeks. No amount of going over it to make sure all the settings are correct will overcome the Simplifi default to 2 weeks. After a good bit of trying, I gave up and entered 12 individual transactions using the correct available dates for all three recurring direct deposits. When I went back through all the transactions to be sure they were correct, I found that some of the incorrect recurring transactions appeared randomly in addition to the ones I set up individually. I had to delete them to be sure the income didn't appear twice in the Projected Cash Flow. It took me some time to do this since all of the transactions had split distributions. I would like to see the recurring transaction setup follow the instructions used on the Frequency tab and stop defaulting and overriding to 2 weeks.

Hello @mllcpa,
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! I'm not having any luck replicating the issue you described. Would you please provide more information? Are you encountering this in the web app, the mobile app, or both? Which category/subcategory are you using for this income?
I look forward to your reply!

Yes, Coach Kristina, thanks for your message. I am using the web account only and not the mobile app, and I'm setting up the recurring transactions with multiple lines of distribution. The first line is Paycheck for the gross amount of the income, and then I add Federal Tax and Health Insurance lines, depending on the income source because they are not all identical.

on recurring transactions (settings, Recurring) you cannot have splits.

Hello @mllcpa,
Thanks for the reply. I was unable to reproduce the issue described as well. Can you share a screenshot showing the details of the recurring series you created? Does deleting and recreating the series fix the issue?
Additionally, can you let us know what "setting up the recurring transactions with multiple lines of distribution" means in this context? Are you creating multiple different recurring series with different categories? Or are you trying to add a split to one recurring series? In the latter case, RobWilk is correct in that it cannot be done at this time.

Yes, I do know that splits do not "take" when setting up recurring transactions. Previously when I set up recurring income transactions, only the first line carried through to all the reminders. When the reminders became pending transactions, I went in and added the extra lines. But this time when I set up the recurring income series for each direct deposit, the screen defaults to a 2-week frequency. I go in and change the frequency to monthly and a particular day of the month, deleting all references to 2 weeks and any other day of the month except for the one I want. I check upcoming transactions and they appear correctly. I save everything and the screen shows the recurring transaction as a 2-week frequency again. I thought I was doing something wrong, but I tried entering a series multiple times and I couldn't get it to stay on a monthly frequency. I can't show you any from my account because I deleted them all and entered 12 individual transactions for each of my three direct deposits so that I could have them appear on the date that WF makes them available, which is two banking days prior to the posting date. Simplifi used to be able to adapt to that when I changed the date on the reminder, but now it doesn't matter what date I put in, Simplifi changes it to the WF posting date and will not show the deposit in Pending, even though WF does show it in Pending. I couldn't get the recurring transactions to stay on the monthly frequency I wanted and I couldn't get the recurring transactions to use the available date of the deposit rather than the posting date. The only way around it was to enter the 12 individual transactions.

Hello @mllcpa,
Thanks for the clarification. So if I understand correctly, the problem was with the frequency drop-down menu when setting up a recurring transaction. You were unable to change the frequency to every month successfully. So as a workaround, you entered individual transactions to make up for it. It is definitely strange that you were unable to set the desired frequency, but I am glad you at least were able to work around the issue. I am still unable to reproduce this issue myself. I would see if creating a new series allows you to select the correct frequency now, or try doing so in another browser/incognito mode to see if that works, and let us know!
