Quicken 2009 and Win11 24H2

New to the group here and hopping someone on this forum might shed some light about some issues with using Quicken with Windows 11 build 24H2.
Previously I had Windows 11 23H2 installed on my computer. I had loaded Quicken 2009 on that system and it worked flawlessly. I was able to use an old file from when I had Quicken installed on another XP computer. Just saved it to a USB drive and plugged into the Win11 machine.
Backups worked fine also.
Now the nightmare. About two weeks the Win 11 23H2 machine crashed and I lost all of my data, including all of the Quicken files. Luckily I had a backup copy on another computer that was only one year old. So I installed a new ISO file from Windows, but I had to use 24H2 as 23H2 was discontinued. The install of 24H2 worked OK. I then took the Quicken 2009 CD and loaded it on the new install. The program runs OK, and is asking me for all of the required setup info. That worked OK. I selected the saved Quicken file stored on my USB thumb drive and loaded that up all OK. But when I went to Backup the file I get all kinds of error messages that says I can not backup the file to the specified directory. Also many times when I double click on the Quicken icon on the desktop, I get the Quicken splash screen but then closes immediately. These symptoms did not happen with the previous build (23H2) of Win11.
Anyone else seeing these issues.

Karin Anne Johnson

@KarinFL, thanks for posting to the Community!
Since it sounds like you're using Quicken Classic instead of Quicken Simplifi, you'll want to post to their Community forum:
I hope this helps get you pointed in the right direction!
