Tags, Categories and Payees on Payment/Deposit Investment Transactions don't calculate in Watchlists

Bug Description:

Watchlists created using tags do not accurately reflect the sum of transactions when those transactions originate from an investment account. While the individual tagged transactions from investment accounts are correctly displayed within the watchlist's detail view, the summary totals (e.g., "This Month," "Year to Date") shown on the watchlist overview or dashboard fail to include the amounts from these specific transactions.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Navigate to an investment account.
  2. Add a specific tag (e.g., "TagXYZ") to one or more transactions within that investment account.
  3. Create a new watchlist (or view an existing one) that is filtered to show only transactions with "TagXYZ".
  4. Observe the summary totals displayed for this watchlist (e.g., "This Month," "Year to Date" figures).
  5. Click into the watchlist to view the list of individual transactions.

Actual Results:

The summary totals for the watchlist do not include the amounts from the tagged transactions originating in the investment account.

The detail view of the watchlist does correctly list the tagged transactions from the investment account.

Expected Results:

The summary totals ("This Month," "Year to Date," etc.) for the tag-based watchlist should accurately sum up all transactions matching the tag criteria, including those from investment accounts.

The totals should match the sum of the transactions listed in the watchlist's detail view.

Impact: This discrepancy makes tag-based watchlists unreliable for tracking totals that involve investment account activity.

    The same issue happens in watchlists created from categories. The watchlist does not show the totals of the transactions from investment account categories.

    Thank you for letting us know about this issue. Using the information you provided, I was able to replicate the issue in my Quicken Simplifi as well.

    I've forwarded this issue to the proper channels for further investigation and resolution. If you would like to contribute to the investigation, please send logs. You can do that by following these steps:

    1. Log into the Quicken Simplifi Web App.
    2. Select Profile from the left-hand navigation bar.
    3. With the Profile menu open, hold down the Option key for Mac or the Alt key for Windows, and then click Send Feedback
    4. Leave all boxes checked, add a brief description of the issue, and then click Send.

    I was able to replicate this issue myself and have filed a bug report using my own information. I will post back here with updates!

    To clarify, this issue also impacts Payee Watchlists and Category Watchlists. Also, since the only types of Investment Transactions that can be included in Reports (and therefore Watchlists) are Payment/Deposit's, I updated the title of this thread to be more clear.

    It looks like they ran into some complications while working on this. The fix version was removed from the ticket, so they are still going to be working on fixing the issue. I will let you know when the next update comes through!
