What is the best way to set myself up in Quicken Business & Personal coming from Quickbooks?
Hello, I'm a new user. I was paying a bookkeeper who also did my taxes and preferred I stayed on Quickbooks (QB) but she has grown bigger and let me go as her client! My books through QB will be done through the end of May.
So now I'm testing out whether I can save money by keeping up with my own books and switching to a less costly program such as Quicken. I own and operate two businesses as a sole proprietor (no employees). I've connected my financial accounts and started to categorize some expenses to get a feel for Quicken. I want to start my bookkeeping in Quicken from June on without having to redo the work that's already been done in QB for Jan-May.
- Are there any links to resources on how to best ensure a clean start with Quicken so that my 2025 year's books are good for taxes?
- Do I still need to transfer QB info via CVS files?
- Can I hire a Quicken Coach to walk me through this process?
Thank you so much for your help!

@PawsitiveTraining, welcome to Quicken Simplifi Business & Personal!
To start, here is our Help Center collection for QBP that should help you get going with the basic QBP features:
We also have a generic Getting Started Flow article here that goes over some of the basic features of Quicken Simplifi, such as the Spending Plan and Savings Goals:
As for importing QuickBooks data via a CSV file, this would be entirely up to you. I'm not familiar with how QuickBooks looks or how easy it is to get a CSV file from them, so I can't guarantee how clean that data would come into Quicken Simplifi. You can always use our CSV Import Template instead to ensure a smooth import:
Other users who have transitioned from QuickBooks to Quicken Simplifi Business & Personal may also come along with feedback and advice for you. But I hope this helps you at least get going! Let us know if you have any additional questions!
