Reviewed flag for pending transactions gets reset to not reviewed after posted

Hi Everyone, seems like after a recent release, the Reviewed flag for pending transactions gets reset to Not Reviewed after the transaction is posted. Has anyone else noticed this? It's causing extra work for me to have to re-review transactions, although it looks like the categorization I assigned while the transaction was pending is not being changed which is good. I'm not sure if the issue I'm seeing with the Reviewed flag is by design with an update or something unintended that Quicken needs to fix.

Thanks for reaching out! We are testing this from our side to see if we can replicate the issue you are experiencing, but if the categorization remained the same after becoming cleared, this definitely seems like an issue. In the case of a cleared transaction being downloaded as a different transaction, this would be by design, but that doesn't seem like what is occurring here with you.

How often have you noticed this occurring? Is this with every pending transaction, or is the issue random? Can you provide screenshots showing an example of a transaction that has lost its Reviewed flag you set during the pending status, after becoming cleared? Let us know!

Hi Coach Jon, this is happening for every transaction when it moves from Pending to Cleared. The behavior started about 2 weeks ago. I've attached a screenshot of a recent transaction where it reverted back to Not Reviewed. The screenshot shows the status as Reviewed but that is because I had to manually change it back to Reviewed.

Thanks for posting this @habrams99. I was noticing it too but just thought it might have to do with my crazy local bank. Today it happened in my Chase Credit Card so came on here to search for the issue. I was afraid it might be a new feature and not a bug. 😀

I've got a reoccurring issue where when I review a pending transaction and check it reviewed once the transaction changes from Pending to Cleared, the transaction goes back to showing unreviewed again and I have to go back in and once again check it reviewed.

This issue has been occurring for a few weeks now.

I’m having the same issue and interested in a fix too. It requires me now to mark each transaction as Reviewed twice. Just startled happening over the last few weeks. Thank you

@polyfusion Yep, I am trying to learn to not mark it reviewed until it clears. LOL. And with my local bank, a debit card transaction is pending one day and then comes in as pending again the next day as well before it clears. So I end up doing it 3 times.

I created a work around until the reviewed is updated. I take the flag, green flag, and put it on the tranactions that I have reconciled on the statement(s). This is more permanent and allows to go to an account (credit card, for example), filter all the transactions that have "no flag" (None) and then set the green flag for each reconciled transaction. Right now, it works for me.

@Dick_Davis Glad you found a work-around. You are getting the hang of making the software work for you. 😀

This bug is more an annoyance than anything. I would just hold off marking anything reviewed until it clears but when I split the pending transaction (or edit it in most anyway), it gets marked reviewed.

My local bank messes me up with debit card transactions because it downloads them twice as pending with different dates, which usually Simplifi interprets as different transaction. I tend to just delete the duplicate, and then on day 3 clears the transaction by matching it to the original pending but marking it unreviewed.

Credit card pending transactions which I already reviewed, and marked as reviewed and no longer kept as reviewed once they move to Posted (moved out of Pending) section.

This used to work couple of weeks ago.

The document describes a method for tracking transaction reviews using flags, where a Purple flag indicates a reviewed transaction ready for reconciliation, and a Green flag signifies that the transaction has been reconciled with the account statement, allowing for easy filtering of unreviewed transactions.

I just noticed in my cleared transactions this morning that the Reviewed flag is persisting after the transaction clears. I haven’t seen any announcements that the issue is resolved, but the behavior has changed … at least for me, this morning. Any one else notice this?

Honestly, since the Reviewed is not working as designed, I have abandoned it. I use flags - such as purple for waiting to reconcile, green for reconciled, etc. I set it and I managed it.
