Don't need badges (edited)
I got a new badge yesterday - Prompt Payer. Very exciting. Reminds me of one Dr Jill praising her husband how well he did in political debate. In fact, Simplifi considers it so exciting that they felt the need to even send me an email, advising me of this exciting fact.
It all sounds like high school financial literacy class. Badges, "couches" instead of focusing on missing functionality that customers (not students!) have been asking for many years.
I am old enough to remember Microsoft Clippy. All the ridicule that Microsoft endured before phasing that intrusive and annoying mascot out. Quicken could learn a lesson or two from the big guy…

I actually thought Clippy was kinda cute. I loved it when he tapped on the glass of the monitor to get my attention! 😁
By the way, I once posted on this subject about not needing "no stinking badges". I turned them off and moved the badge card to the bottom of the Dashboard.
Later I found that when I was missing one that I had earned, that it bothered me — isn't that just human nature?
Thanks for the post!

I also thought Clippy was kind of cute. I also disabled achievement notifications and put the widget at the bottom of my screen.

@virshu others have expressed the same feelings/view regarding badges. There may even be a feature request that would allow users to hide dashboard cards they don't want to see on the dashboard.
But gamification, I do believe, is here to stay.
Personally, I've had a lot of fun with these badges including a lot of teasing when they misfire! But then again, I'm only 73 and am known to get in a bit of trouble for not taking a lot of things too seriously. (My wife and kids and now my grandkids keep telling me to "grow up!" 🤣)

I don't want to get snarled up in the badge vs no-badge controversy…
… but I would like to get one of those "couches" — tufted leather with power recline, if possible. 😉
