Transaction detail - exclude from:
hi! I’m trying to understand the exclude from section within a transaction. For instance, when I get paid should that transaction be excluded from my spending plan?
I know it’s my choice but I don’t even understand quicken simplifi and what that means.
another example is if I transfer funds from say savings or another account should those transactions be excluded from spending plan and reports?
I want to make sure I’m capturing my spending but I of course don’t want to double count if that makes sense thanks!

Hi @Nicoleeeee
How and when to use the exclude options is, as you say, user choice. But in the two examples you give and are asking about:
Typically, paychecks should always be included in your Spending Plan and Reports - These are the income needed to cover all your Spending Plan expenses. Paychecks can and typically are set up as a recurring series.
Inclusion/exclusion of transfers between accounts you own will depend on what several factors and would need specifics of what the transfer is for.
I'm sure you will here from several others on this but in the mean time these support articles will be educational and helpful as you get set up.
