My bank, Desjardins, doesn’t allow a constant real-time connection

Hello,

I started using Simplifi a few days ago, after being a long-time user of Quicken Classic.

Everything seemed to be working fine once the setup was complete, until I tried connecting to my financial institution, Desjardins. From that moment on, I could no longer access the transactions from any of my accounts. It seems Desjardins doesn’t allow a constant real-time connection.

Since I only use Quicken to manage a single account, I changed the account settings in Simplifi to “manual.” But now, if I want to download my transactions, I either have to reconnect to Desjardins as if it were my first time using Simplifi, or download the data in Excel format. Both options are slow and not very user-friendly.

I’m considering requesting a refund and going back to Quicken Classic. But before making that decision, I wanted to take a chance and ask here, just in case there’s a solution I haven’t found in the Help section or through ChatGPT.

Thank you

    Hello @LaVraieNinie,

Thanks for reaching out! I do not see you receiving an error for Desjardins from our side. What specifically is occurring when you try connecting to this financial institution?

You mentioned you cannot access transactions when the account is connected. Do they disappear, or are the transactions just not downloading into Quicken Simplifi? If you could provide screenshots, this would be helpful in understanding your situation.

Additionally, have you tried connecting to one of the other instances available for Desjardins within Quicken Simplifi to see if they work better?

It seems Desjardins doesn’t allow a constant real-time connection.

I don't know if this info will help, but Simplifi does not use a "constant real-time connection."

Simplifi uses third-party data aggregators to connect to your bank periodically (no more often than every 4 hours) and download transactions along with some other information (like account balances). So a bar on constant real-time connection would not be a problem.
