Net worth report not matching All accounts net worth

The net worth value in the the all accounts page is calculating, correct. However, when I go to the reports tab and click net worth, it is lumping my mortgage in as an asset and adding it to my net worth incorrectly. Is there any way to fix this?

    Hello @EMAW_fan,

    Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. I tried to replicate the issue that you're reporting, but it's working properly in my Quicken Simplifi. To help troubleshoot, please provide more information. Are you seeing this in the mobile app, the web app, or both? Have you tried logging out of the app, then logging back in again?

    I possible, please provide a screenshot of what you are seeing. Please redact any personal information.

    I look forward to your response!

  • I originally saw this in the app. However I logged on to the web app and am seeing the same thing. In my report my debt is reporting as a positive number and adding to my net worth. You can see this in the picture below. The red box is from the reports where I show the net worth value and the accounts break down. Then the green box is the accounts page with the correct value.

    @EMAW_fan, thanks for the reply!

    I tested this by adding a manual mortgage account in Quicken Simplifi, and I see that it is reflected properly under 'Debt' in the Net Worth Report —

    With that, I think we will need more information from you. Is the mortgage account connected to the bank, or is it manual? When was the account added in Quicken Simplifi? Where in the Net Worth Report Accounts list is the account in question listed (this is not visible in your screenshots)? What is the value for the account in the Accounts List on the left side of the Dashboard or Transactions view (this is also not visible in your screenshots)? And what is the account classified as in Quicken Simplifi?

  • The mortgage account was connected to a bank over a year ago when I started to use Quicken. I had check the net worth tab in a while and I realized that our mortgage hadn't account hasn't updated in over a year. However, in the accounts tab I do see it as a negative value:

    I tried updating it several times and kept getting the same error. I've logged into the bank portal several times and didn't see any new terms of service or any other things I needed to do per the error request.

    Here is the Net worth tab - the "B" name matches the same name above. The values are different but for whatever reason the net worth report shows a positive value but the account shows a negative one.

    @EMAW_fan, thanks for the information!

    Since you are receiving an error on the account, I would recommend following these steps to establish a fresh connection with the bank to see if doing so clears things up for you. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Make all of the accounts with this bank manual by following the steps here.
    2. Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
    3. If the connection is successful, carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here

    If you are unable to reconnect the account in step 3 due to an error, please let us know what the error is at that time so we can continue troubleshooting.

    The other thing you can try is deleting and re-adding the account to get a fresh start. I suspect this will likely fix the issue in the Net Worth Report immediately. And we have a nifty feature that allows you to import Balance History so you can re-fill out the historical net worth data for the account!

  • I set the account as manual and re-added the account while linking it to the old account. My Dashboard has the correct number negative number for the mortgage but the net worth value is still positive and wrong. Not quite sure what to do next here.

    @EMAW_fan, thanks for trying a fresh connection with the bank!

    To clarify, when the account was in a "manual" state, did you check the Net Worth Report to see if the data was then correct? If not, I'd suggest doing so to determine if the issue is occurring only when the account is connected. I would also recommend adding a new manual account that is classified as a mortgage account to see if it is also incorrect in your Net Worth Report, if you don't feel comfortable deleting and re-adding the account as mentioned in my previous comment.
