Spending Plan: Option to forward 'Left at End of Month/Available' to the following month (edited)

Well, if you could do this, what it would mean to me, would show my total savings for the year. I would like the rollover to stop after December and start again. And maybe the rollover does end in December. I don't currently use rollover. I just prefer to have each month its own entity and start over.
Whatever I have leftover for the month is savings for me. I might use this feature.

I think that when "closing out a month" we should have an option to roll over any extra cash (or deficit) to the next month. That'd be more useful than rolling over specific categories (though I'm not anti using both as long as they work together in an intuitive way).

I would love the option to roll over the extra cash. I only get paid once a month and it is at the start of the month. . . meaning that months with a holiday or a weekend as the first day I get paid the month before making one month look like I am making crazy amounts with 2 paychecks on the books and other months I have no income because technically my paycheck came in the month before.

I would love a way to move left over unspent funds to the next month, my personal cash flow shows that I have funds left, but it starts showing as overspent in the system. while its not the worst in the world it really bothers me. it could have a left over this month 9showing over under. and a left over year to date. that would give a better idea of what was carried over. or it should just allow us to push a button to carry over +/_ to the next month. that would allow the user to choose who they see their data. I keep messing with my goals to make it correct each month for cash flow purposes as showing I am over budget drives me nuts!!

The problem with rolling over available spending to next month is: At that point, you don't really have a budget, you really just have some variant of forecasted account balances (cash flow chart). But I have thought ideas were bad before and they got implemented (and not necessarily in a bad way either), I am just throwing in my 2 cents.

I have come to agree with you on this. I no longer see any benefit for my idea here based on the how and why of the Spending Plan. Indeed, I would withdraw this idea but since it has received votes, it can't be withdrawn. However, I don't expect this to be implemented any time soon if at all and would certainly want other much more useful suggestions implemented prior to this.
