I need Account Balance as of a prior date

is there any way to get an account balance as of a certain prior date?

I use a “cash” account to represent cash I have on me. In the rare case I use cash for an expense, I record a transaction in Simplifi for it. When I withdraw cash from an ATM , the category for that is a transfer to my “cash” account. All works just fine until every once in a while the Simplifi balance on my cash account doesn’t match what I have.

I can usually just look at the transactions recently and find my error but when I can’t there is no way to see what Simplifi had for my balance one month ago.
I can go back through transactions manually to the previous balance adjustment and I know I was good at that point but it doesn’t give me the balance at that time.

@oldit51, thank you for reaching out to the Community!

It sounds like you are reporting two issues:

    • An incorrect account balance for your manual cash account
    • A need to see historical balances for this account

Does that sound right? If so, to start, I wanted to mention the Net Worth Report as a way to view historical account balances:

You can filter the report to a specific month to see 'per day' amounts for each of your accounts as well. This should get you started on looking at your balance history. Our support article here has more details on using Reports in Quicken Simplifi: https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/4592676-using-reports-in-quicken-simplifi

Thank You! I will give that a try and see if that works and report back.

The report was just what I needed!
now that I found the difference, I’m thinking I might have found a glitch elsewhere.

I had made two ATM transactions in my checking account on the same day, for different amounts and I entered those as transactions in the checking acct with categorizes them with a transfer to cash account. One of them didn’t seem to show up in “cash”. I’ve since deleted it in checking and reentered with a different date and that one shows in cash but the balance is still off by that amount.
Did the synch to bank think one was a duplicate and omit it?
I’m going to go back and dig more to see what I can find later or tomorrow, and see if the next synch with the bank changes anything.
