Erroneous balance on manual account

I have a manual account , “cash”, that reflects cash on hand.
It gets added to with an ATM transaction that I create at the time of the withdrawal from checking and this transaction is given a “transfer to cash” category.

Any cash spent has transactions entered manually to the cash account.
Recently the balance of the cash account went crazy and I suspected it was due to two ATM transactions on the same day causing it.

I deleted both sides of one of the ATM transactions and reentered it on an earlier date.
no luck….the balance is still wrong and doesn’t make any sense.
I use the net worth report to see the daily balances for this account and the balance goes whack in a 7 day period with only 6 transactions.

Can I just delete all 8 transactions for this month and reenter manually or is there possibly a invisible renegade transaction hiding that will continue to throw things off?

    Hello @oldit51,

    Thank you for letting us know you're seeing this issue. Since this is a manual account, the balance should be based off of the transactions in the account.

    You should be able to delete and re-enter the 8 transactions from the current month.

    If the issue persists after you have done that, then the next step would be to make sure that the sum of all your transactions in that account is equal to the balance showing for the account. You can bulk select all visible transactions by clicking the the checkbox in the upper left of the account register.

    If not all of your transactions are visible, you may need to click the gear icon to set your transaction activity to show all time.

    You will also need to make sure that the months are not collapsed, since if the month is collapsed, the transactions in that month are not visible, and will not be selected.

    hi @Coach Kristina ,

    Ok, I deleted the 8 transactions in the account for September.
    The Net Worth report for August shows the correct balance at the end of August. ($56)

    The dashboard (iOS app) shows an erroneous balance of $ 444- and there are no transactions left in September.

    In addition, The Net Worth report for September shows balances that are erroneous and seem to be affected by transactions that were deleted.

    UPDATE. I got assistance from support and learned that the account balances on Net Worth report are point in time on that date and do not reflect changes to transactions that are made after that date. Ie….deleting or changing amounts or dates.

    I therefore just reentered my few transactions for the month and made a balance adjustment to correct the displayed balance on the dashboard.
