Brand Spanking New
Hello all. New to the community, but a veteran of the finance app wars.
I'm one of those sickos that really enjoy all the setup and categorization, and then get bored really easy after it's all done. The day to day just doesn't get me fired up. I'm a happy user of Simplifi but also pay for YNAB, Tiller, Monarch and Lunch Money. I'll let those run out and stay with Simplifi, but my god, when will my obsession with organization end.
I wonder if I'm the only one out there that just loves to fiddle with categories, set up tags that I'll never sort on, or run reports that don't interest me all that much… Probably not.
Anyway, here I am. Come at me bro.
PS Oh no. I see a field below for tags. I'm gonna get a little shot of dopamine here. I'm so excited!

😂 OK, I have to admit, I'm a bit like what you describe but have come to embrace the "boredom" of a smooth-running set-up once it's all in place. Haven't always been that way and I still have to reign myself in a bit when I start feeling the wanderlust stirring up inside. I'm currently fiddling around with one other finance app just for the fun of it.
Welcome to QS and the community!

Welcome! And I plead guilty to fiddling with categories all the time, looking for the perfect way to simplify things and make my data make sense.
In fact, in another thread I just mentioned this and described my categories to another user.
I also have used just about every app out there. YNAB is one of the few I didn't try. I still use Quicken Classic as well as Simplifi.
I don't use tags as extensively but when I want to cut across categories such as Tennis trips, my wife's professional trips I will tag those transactions.
Look forward to sharing with you more. Also sorry that somehow I missed your post earlier!
