roommate's portion of rent (edited)
I'm renting apartment and I have roommates and I'm the one who pays rent to landlord, and my roommate will pay me. Currently in the spending cart, my home spending portion looks too big than it should be because it counts my roommate portion of rent as well.
I learned that I can split the bill, but how to divide roommate's potion of rent and hide it from spending cart?

There are several ways you can handle this.
- You have a recurring payment to Landlord say for $300. You pay that and link to the recurring. You then have 2 recurring payments of +$100 each from your roommates. All use the same category rent. Now the Spending Plan will show that your rent costs you $100 per month and when you deposit the money from your mates, you link both to the monthly recurring.
- You have a recurring payment of $300 per month to Landlord for rent. You set up two refunds, one from each roommate for $100 with category rent.
- You pay the monthly rent of $300 but you split the transaction with $100 for rent and $200 transfer. When the roommates pay you, you do the transaction as +100 transfer for each.
I personally would use Method 1. How long does it take them to give you their parts?
