When I am logging in, I have the option to "keep me signed in", what are the risks fo doing this as opposed to having to sign in each time. There is a posting on this, but there is no listing of the risks of checking this option.

As long as you are using it on your home device and you alone have access then I don't think there is that great a risk.

But if you sign into your account on a public computer or someone else's device, then I wouldn't select this option, and I would sign out deliberately after I was finished.

    Risks:

    (1) If other people use your computer, they could get access to your simplifi account — so you don't want to use this on a public computer or a friend's computer.

    (2) If someone gets access to your "cookies", which are basically like an identifier for your sign in information and temporarily stored info, they could access your account. In theory, your cookies "should" be safe as your session is encrypted i believe (https), however if someone (1) decrypted your session from having access to your network traffic, or (2) used a hack to get access to your local data files and downloads your cookie data, in either case they could get access to your data.

When i first joined simplifi, it was "unlikely" that other than seeing your data in a sign in, they could do damage to you financially — however, now some accounts (like mine) have account-to-account transfers, so now in theory they can "move" money out of your accounts, but still this would (1) take a couple days for them to "add" a new account, then (2) a couple days to complete the transfer. Still, there is a risk if you are unaware that they have access.

Keep in mind, i do not work for Quicken, I am just another user, and my answer may possibly be incomplete or even inaccurate.

@RobWilk @SRC54, thank you both for the explainations and the aspects you presented. I now have a better understanding.
