Nicor Gas - Unable to add biller with new system (edited)

Nicor shows as a Bill Connect provider. However, when I try to reconnect using the new method, I keep getting a message that the account number I entered was incorrect. It is correct, I double checked.


I tried disconnecting, deleting and setting up again, different devices, nothing works. seems to be - bug.

    I did confirm that Nicor Gas is supported under our new Bill Connect service provider. Have you tried contacting them to see if there is by chance a different account number that is used for third-party access? Also, are you enrolled with bill pay with the biller directly or anything along those lines? If so, you may not be able to connect via Quicken Simplifi.

    If you are still unable to get connected, we will need the following data from you to review your case for escalation:

    1. A screenshot of the error.
    2. A time and date stamp for the error.
    3. The last 4 digits of the account number.
    4. Confirm whether you have MFA enabled with the biller directly.
    5. Confirm you are able to sign in with the biller directly and access your account.
    6. Confirm whether you are enrolled in bill pay or online bill presentment with the biller directly.

    No MFA

    No problem signing in directly - and bill connect worked previously under you old system - nothing has changed with my Nicor account

    @Ekspain , our Biller service provider has researched your issue, and they stated that the account number used failed the initial verification based on rules provided by Nicor. They'd like you to contact Nicor Gas to confirm if the account number is eBill eligible. If they confirm that it is, they will need the full account number to continue working on the issue.

    Natalie, Thank you for following up. Much appreciated. I am going to give up. It was ebill eligible for years until you changed the bill connect method. In fact, it ws the most reliable ebill I had under your previous method. Nothing changed with my Nicor Account. So, it’s either a bug or who knows what, not worth spending any more time on this.
