Permission denied to read my notifications

Recently I cleared my cache (Chrome browser on a Chrombook+). When I came to the community today, it made me enter login & password, which I did. The bell icon in the upper right of screen, which I believe is the notifications icon, showed that I had 1 notification. When I click on it, I see the header for an October 27 notification from Coach Jon, but when I click on the header to read the message, I get an error screen:

Permission Problem

You don't have permission to do that.

How do I resolve that?

    @KB2014, thanks for reaching out!

    I checked your permissions, and you should be all set to actively participate. I also am not personally experiencing any issues with selecting notifications from the bell icon here in the Community. I would recommend signing out and back in again to see if that fixes things for you.
