Feature Request: Enable Screenshots on Android (as a Free Marketing Tool)
Hi Simplifi Team,
I'm writing with a product suggestion that I believe would help with user adoption and marketing.
I'd like to request the ability to take screenshots within the Android app. I understand that this is likely disabled for security reasons to protect sensitive financial data, which is important.
However, this restriction also prevents users from sharing their successes or cool features with friends and family. When a user hits a savings goal or sees a helpful report, their first instinct might be to screenshot and share it. This is a powerful, organic, and free marketing tool for Simplifi.
My suggestion: Would it be possible to add a toggle in the Settings > Security menu that allows users to opt-in to enabling screenshots? This would keep the app secure by default but give users the choice to share, which could lead to greater adoption.
Thank you for your consideration.

Just for the record, on IOS I can take screenshots (apps can turn it off, such as the Chase app does), it is unclear why they would allow it on IOS but disallow it on Android.

@rosachin21k, thank you for posting your request to the Community!
I went ahead and moved this out of Feature Requests for now so we can do some troubleshooting, as I can take screenshots and videos with no issue on the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App using my Samsung Galaxy S25 (Android). I believe being unable to do so is a device setting, and I would recommend researching how to disable it.
Also, I noticed you used the Android Tablet tag in your post — is this specific to an Android tablet, or are you unable to take screenshots of the Quicken Simplifi Mobile App from an Android phone?
We can certainly keep this as an Idea post requesting an option under Settings if you wish; however, I really think this is a device setting, which would make a setting in Quicken Simplifi obsolete. I think it would be beneficial to look at this from a device perspective first. If you'd like to share your device specs, I can look it up on Google as well!

I have a Samsung phone and use the QS Android app. I don't have any problems with taking screenshots of QS pages.

I have early access enabled, maybe that makes a difference? I am not using a tablet device, it is a pixel 10 pro XL. The latest device from Google.

@rosachin21k, if the security restriction isn't Quicken Simplifi, having Early Access enabled in Quicken Simplifi would not make a difference.
I searched Google for "can't take screenshot in quicken simplifi using a pixel 10 pro XL" and here is what I was told —
AI Overview
The inability to take a screenshot in the Quicken Simplifi app is likely due to a device-specific restriction or a security policy enforced on your phone, not a restriction imposed by the Simplifi app itself. Many users on Android and iOS devices can take screenshots without issues.
Potential Reasons and Solutions
- Employer/Organization Admin Policy: If your Pixel phone is managed by your employer or an organization (Mobile Device Management or MDM), they may have set a security policy that disables screenshots in certain apps or entirely.
- Solution: Contact your organization's IT department to inquire about their policies or use a personal, unmanaged device for taking screenshots in the app.
- Android Security Flag (FLAG_SECURE): While Simplifi developers state they do not impose a prohibition on screenshots, some apps, particularly financial ones, can use a security flag (FLAG_SECURE) to prevent screen capture.
- Solution: There is no official workaround for this without rooting your device and using third-party tools, which is not recommended due to security risks.
- Device-Specific Glitch: Sometimes, the screenshot function on Pixel phones can stop working due to a temporary software glitch.
- Solution: Try booting your phone into Safe Mode (press and hold the power button, then press and hold "Restart" until the prompt appears) and see if the screenshot function works there. If it does, restart your phone normally, and the issue might be resolved.
- Incorrect Screenshot Method: Ensure you are using the correct method for your Pixel phone: press the Power and Volume down buttons at the same time.
Here is a Reddit post I found, too: https://www.reddit.com/r/simplifimoney/comments/1bdyone/screenshot_on_app/
I definitely think your best bet would be to look into this from a device perspective. Let us know what you find out!
