Backup prior to import?

Brand new to Quicken, many years experience in QuickBooks. I imported some banking information when I started setting up my accounts, and a lot of transactions came over. Way more than I wanted. I didn't see an easy way to delete the unneeded transactions, so I deleted the accounts and then just added the recent stuff in manually. Is there an easy way to connect accounts and not bring ALL the history over, or an easy way to remove transactions I don't care about? I'm still new enough that I can find duplicate transactions, but I'd rather do this sooner than later. And, to the title of my question, is there a way to backup prior to trying anything, or to restore if it all goes South?

Thank you for reaching out! Quicken Simplifi does not have a backup/restore feature like Quicken Classic does, although there is an Idea post asking for it to be added:

If this is a feature you'd like to see added, please add your vote and a comment to the idea post. Ideas that get enough votes may be implemented in the future!

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to limit how much history will be downloaded when you connect with a financial institution. The financial institution determines how much history to provide. If you do want to delete the surplus history, please see this article for information on deleting transactions (both single and in bulk): https://support.simplifi.quicken.com/en/articles/3348103-managing-transactions-in-quicken-simplifi#h_ecd8443890 . Once a transaction is deleted, it should not redownload again. If you accidentally delete a transaction you didn't intend to delete, you will need to manually re-enter it.

I didn't see an easy way to delete the unneeded transactions

To delete older transactions:

set a filter in the Transaction Activity list like "<01/01/025" (don't include the quotes) to see only transactions before 2025
click the "Select all Visible Transactions" box to select all of them (Note: make sure none of the month sections are collapsed, because non-visible transactions won't be selected)
click the pencil icon to bring up the edit multiple transactions window,
click the "Delete xxx Transactions" button.

As you might expect, this is non-reversible.
