Amex HYS $0 Balance (edited)
It's back. A year after posting this problem I am getting it again. The last few days I get a zero balance for my Amex HYSA and a valid balance for my Amex credit card. Simplifi also only gives me the pending-balance option not the default bank-balanace option.
The HYSA transactions are correct, but the balance is zero which is not correct.
Is this an annual problem?

@quickdave, thanks for posting to the Community with this issue!
Although we wouldn't be able to determine here in the Community whether the problem is an annual occurrence or not, we'd be happy to take a look at the issue you're experiencing today. With that, the first thing we'll need you to do is establish a completely fresh connection with American Express and gain a new access token to see if doing so clears things up. Here are the steps to follow:
- Navigate to the bank's website, sign in, and remove Quicken's access from the bank's third-party linked apps.
- Navigate back to Quicken Simplifi and make all of the accounts with this bank manual by following the steps here.
- Once you see the account(s) listed in the Manual Accounts section under Settings > Accounts, go back through the Add Account flow to reconnect to the bank.
- Carefully link the account(s) found to your existing Quicken Simplifi account(s) by following the steps here.
Let us know how things go!

@Coach%20Natalie — you have to admit that is quite a process to ask an end user to refresh a token. It's not like I am building my own AWS application. I am a paying Quicken user.
Nonetheless, currently:
We are unable to connect to American Express at this time. (Care code: FDP-401)0 -
The 401 error is 'known' (I believe for months) and from what i understand, retrying clears it up (eventually). This is some kind of intermittent issue.

@quickdave, thank you for the reply!
I definitely understand your concern, however, these are standard troubleshooting steps that need to be followed.
The FDP-401 error is a known issue, with an Alert that users can follow here:
But yes, as Rob mentioned, the FDP-401 usually clears up when trying again. Let us know when it clears up for you, and we can continue troubleshooting the $0 balance issue!

Update. Waiting until the next weekend cleared the problem.
I note that issue 14481 is still listed as "ongoing" but not updated since 9/30.
