Should Simplifi show a category line in report where all transactions are excluded?

In reports like Income & Expense, where there is a line for each Category, Simplifi omits the lines for Categories that have no transactions. That's a good thing.

But when a Category contains only transactions that have been excluded from reports Simplifi displays a line for that Category anyway — with all zeros across the board.

Here's the line in the report:

And here's the full list of transactions (there is only one) for that Category:

    Interesting!

I guess I can see the utility of knowing there are transactions but excluded from Reports. I most often exclude from Spending Plan and don't usually exclude from Reports.

Just checked my Income & Expense Report for the year so far and don't have any of those. But I did notice one thing.

I have the Report set Year to Date, but the last time I checked it was the 5th. Today when I went to it, it had saved the report that way. I had to clear the filter and choose year to date again. Should Year to Date automatically be to today's date?

    Hello @DryHeat,

That is certainly interesting. I don't think this would be a bug, but we do appreciate the feedback. I can also see the utility here, as @SRC54 mentioned. If you have a different opinion, please feel free to submit an idea post that others can vote on, however.

@SRC54 as to your inquiry, the Year to Date option would include today's date, but if the report was saved to the previous date range last time you accessed it, I could see a user having to either reset the report or select Year to Date once again when returning.

@Coach Jon Thanks. Today I opened the report, didn't touch the Date Range, and it includes today's date, the 11th, so it was either a glitch or something I did wrong. Probably the latter. So never mind. 😄
