Feedback - Ads in Simplifi
Hello,
I wanted to provide some feedback on something that has bothered me a few times. Simplifi is a paid app, and an expectation I have of paid apps as a user is that they should be advertisement free, including ads from Quicken. I think this sort of thing is maybe appropriate for a marketing email list, but when I open quicken with a task in mind and I am immediately presented with a modal advertisement, it completely interrupts my workflow.

Hi @nmcmahon1215 ,
Thank you for taking the time to share this feedback. I completely understand how encountering a pop-up can be disruptive when you’re logging in with a specific task in mind, and I appreciate your points regarding the user experience.
Because Quicken Simplifi focuses on your financial health, we view it as a relevant and complementary tool that completes the picture by securing your critical life documents alongside your finances.
That said, we do appreciate you letting us know how this specific delivery impacted your experience.

Thanks for the reply @Coach Jon
I think in today’s world, ads are typically relevant to the task being performed, since ad companies have gotten very good at building profiles to target users successfully. I realize this is an internal modal and not the result of data sharing, but I mention it because even though it is relevant, users will see this as an advertisement on a paid service.
I think I would’ve let this slide if this was a one-time thing. But I’ve seen this modal several times now. Not directly reproducible, but it just pops up every once in a while. The repetitiveness is the main reason for the feedback, even though I think the modal should be scrapped entirely from a user perspective.
I appreciate you considering the feedback

@nmcmahon1215 I totally agree, especially given that Quicken being ad-free is one of the selling points they use on their website when comparing Quicken with other third-party products:
