Migrating from Simplifi to Personal & Business
I recently upgraded my Simplifi subscription to Quicken Personal & Business to incorporate the accounting and invoicing for a Schedule C LLC.
Perhaps I assumed incorrectly, but I was surprised to discover that a Personal & Business subscription unlocks additional features within Simplifi rather than using an entirely different app.
I also was (pleasantly) surprised that, despite "Fin" (the AI support Bot) explaining that Simplifi data cannot be transferred to Business & Personal, the data transfer was seamless. My Simplifi data became the foundation for the Personal side of Business & Personal.
Not every surprise has been unwelcome, but I wish more and better information about migrating from Simplifi to Business & Personal exists - or I at least knew where to find it beforehand,

One thing to look out for in QBP is how Spaces work. A Space is best looked at as a completely separate dataset.
If you want to segregate your business accounts into a different Space, you should do it from the beginning. Account data cannot be directly moved from one Space to another. You can delete the account are rebuild it in the other Space, but you may lose some of your work in doing so. Not everything is preserved when you export and import data.
Another is that you cannot delete a Business, nor can you move it to another Space. If you decide at a later data to use Spaces to separate business and personal, you will have to recreate the Business.
But Spaces aren't for everyone. For example, you cannot do direct transfers from one account to another across Spaces. Some folks find it easier just to keep everything in one Space.

Sorry, I'm not really familiar with that. I tried to adapt the client/project features to our business process, but it was too cumbersome and didn't really fit our non-profit grant-driven structure. (If anyone else has used it for that kind of business, I'd love to hear how they made it work.)
