Split Transaction across multiple months
I want to be able to split a transaction like a quarterly HOA due into 3 months evenly instead of just all in one month to better reflect monthly expenses.

A rollover category in your spending plan could work. Or you may need to make 2 more manual transactions if you want it to show up that way in reports.

Here's a feature request in which you might be interested. It's been submitted for review. Quarterly would probably be an option if implemented.

I've thought about this, and similar needs, quite a bit recently, and in my opinion, the cleanest way to solve for it would be for Simplifi to provide another date field to transactions and to splits, to indicate a different month's spending plan to use for a particular transaction or split portion. That way, you can keep the transaction on the correct date when it happened, which makes sense historically and cash-flow-wise, but apply it to other months' spending plan(s) as desired (by splitting it into portions for each month).
Personally, I have an income series set up now where I receive a paycheck on the 15th and last day of the month. In my cash flow I prefer to keep the recurring reminder as a couple of days later in case the 15/last is not a business day and I want to make sure that I have about 2-3 days of buffer to get it deposited. However, in terms of spending plan I prefer to keep it on the correct day, especially for the check that comes on the last day of the month, so that the income is designated to the correct month.
I know that I could just use every "last day" paycheck towards the next month's spending plan, but then the transaction dates are wrong and in terms of tax/reporting, will show the incorrect income for the year since Dec 31/Jan 2 are not the same year. For now I'm doing this anyways and plan to fix the transaction dates at the end of the year when it doesn't affect my spending plan anymore.
Setting up a separate "spending plan date" field would solve my use case and also the one of splitting transactions across months, which makes sense when you want to budget monthly for something that could be quarterly (like my water bill) or twice a year (eg: car insurance). Hopefully it's something that Simplifi will consider implementing!
