Prevent automatic edits to Transactions that have been marked as Reviewed
This suggestion would solve all sorts of interesting issues that come up once in a while. The suggestion is simple: do not do behind-the-scenes edits to transactions that are marked as Reviewed. An optional addition would be to warn the user before saving manual edits to them as well.
This would solve issues of transfer transactions linking to the wrong (and possibly older) transaction rather than creating a new transfer for the other side or waiting until the other side downloads. It could also save the user from mistakes due to unintended clicks etc. Another thing I wonder about is series getting linked to the wrong transactions (but I don't know if that ever happens after transactions are already downloaded).
Since I assume that transactions I marked as Reviewed are correct, I don't go back to review them again, and so if something messes one of them up, I won't necessarily notice and fix it. (The ones I notice are usually new transfer transactions that get erroneously linked to old, already-categorized-and-reviewed transactions.)
I am curious if anyone has more use cases for this feature. (I also think that there might be people who don't want it for whatever reason - this is the type of thing that would do very well with a toggle in the settings to turn it on and off. See below idea for what I refer to.)
Thanks!

Interesting suggestion. I am glad you referenced Dryheat's feature request as I think I missed it. (It's a consternation when I miss things like that because I am following most everything on Simplifi.)
I will mull both posts over for a while before deciding whether to upvote.

I may be missing something, but I think the "automatic editing" you are talking about is what's happening when a Reviewed transaction later gets matched to a new transfer in another account — possibly changing the date, payee, or amount. Is that right? Or is something else going on? Like maybe matching to a recurring transaction?
Anyway, I agree that being Reviewed should put a stop to those change and essentially mark that transfer as "off limits."

Yes, the most common issue that comes up for these transactions is when they get matched to transfers. I've had the category changed from a custom income category to a transfer, and the payee change as well which makes it very hard to track down! I've never seen the amount change fwiw.
I thought about just mentioning transfers in the post, but left it more open-ended in case there are more use cases that we think of.
