Strategy for importing transactions including transfers

I have read and followed the instructions for manually importing transactions. I am importing from Monarch, which has a "transfer" category that is special, similar to Simplifi's. However, it doesn't link to a transaction at the other end.

When I import transactions that have their category set to transfer, Simplifi doesn't recognize the category and marks them as uncategorized.

Any suggestions on how to handle this? There are a lot of them.

    The main thing to do is change them from uncategorized to Transfer. When you do that, if there is a matching transfer, Simplifi will usually find it and offer to link them. I know that is tedious, but that is what I've always had to do.

    It they are the only "uncategorized" transactions, you should be able to do a search for them and bulk change them to a simple "transfer".

    If they are transfers on both sides, even unlinked, your accounting will still be right.
