Checking Account at Fidelity Brokerage is forced to be Investment Account
I have my checking account with my Fidelity brokerage. I used to be able to change the account type to: Banking > Checking, but now Simplifi forces it into the Investment category. Please fix this problem. It makes managing cash very complicated to have this intermingled with investment accounts while separated from my other cash checking accounts. Furthermore it causes it to display an erroneous total cash amount.
Re: Best Account Update Frequencies within Simplifi
My daily active accounts I keep set up with the default setting.
My occasionally active accounts I have set up for Daily.
My savings accounts are set up for Weekly or Monthly.
This has reduced the amount of time QS spends refreshing when I sign on in the morning and especially if I happen to sign in during the afternoon or evening for some reason.

Re: payee names cut off in the register when hovering and editing (edited)
Thanks @Coach Jon
Re: payee names cut off in the register when hovering and editing (edited)
It's not just hovering that's a problem, it's also editing.
When I click on one of these too-long Payees to edit it inline, the field only shows 4 letters of the Payee while I am editing. I have to figure out what is happening by looking down at the "create a new payee" dropdown. Editing in the "Transaction detail" form works correctly, but inline editing is practically useless.
(This often happens with a payees that don't get automatically renamed and that have long strings of meaningless (to me) characters at the end of the name.)

Re: The Community Meetup - July 2025 Edition
I didn't really think I would use this feature or that I needed it, but I have used it more than expected. Right now I have my AmEx card and Amazon card connected. It does work as advertised, and even though I usually pay off my balances each week, it gives me peace of mind that I am not missing anything, and I know when the statement is coming and I can download it and save it.
Who knows? I might even think about waiting to pay off the card until the statement comes out. Nah! I hate owing money even for a couple of days.

Introducing the Bill Connect for Credit Cards Feature
By Coach Jon
We're thrilled to share a powerful new feature designed to bring you more peace of mind: Bill Connect for Credit Cards! This automatically updates your credit card payment reminders on both the Quicken Simplifi Web and Mobile Apps! We know how vital it is to stay on top of your finances, and this enhancement is all about making that easier and more intuitive.
With this feature, your credit card reminders will now reflect real-time balances and due dates directly from your connected credit card account. No more manual adjustments or worrying about outdated information. This is a game-changer, especially for those cards not supported by Bill Connect in Quicken Simplifi.
Setting it up is a breeze! Once your recurring payment is in place, Simplifi leverages your online banking connection to gather crucial bill presentment data, like your statement balances and due dates. Then, it automatically updates your reminders for you.
How It Works:
You'll notice a brand new "Bill Connect" tab when you're editing a recurring payment series. Afterwards, simply enable automatic updates, and Simplifi will start pulling real-time account data to keep your reminders current, even before your statement officially closes!
- Throughout the month: Quicken Simplifi keeps your reminders updated using the aggregated balance directly from your bank.
- After the statement closes: The system automatically updates the reminder with your final statement balance, total balance, or the minimum due — depending on your preference, of course.
This feature specifically matters because this will allow you to:
- See your real balance: Your reminders will always reflect your actual credit card balance, giving you an accurate snapshot of what you owe.
- Reclaim your time: Spend less time on manual updates and more time doing what you actually want to be doing.
- Gain visibility: Improve your financial planning and visibility, so you're always in control of your money.
To get started, see the steps in our announcement here:
Question of the Month
Beyond the convenience of the feature, in what other ways do you anticipate this feature will positively impact your financial planning or peace of mind?
