Introducing the Bill Connect for Credit Cards Feature
By Coach Jon
We're thrilled to share a powerful new feature designed to bring you more peace of mind: Bill Connect for Credit Cards! This automatically updates your credit card payment reminders on both the Quicken Simplifi Web and Mobile Apps! We know how vital it is to stay on top of your finances, and this enhancement is all about making that easier and more intuitive.
With this feature, your credit card reminders will now reflect real-time balances and due dates directly from your connected credit card account. No more manual adjustments or worrying about outdated information. This is a game-changer, especially for those cards not supported by Bill Connect in Quicken Simplifi.
Setting it up is a breeze! Once your recurring payment is in place, Simplifi leverages your online banking connection to gather crucial bill presentment data, like your statement balances and due dates. Then, it automatically updates your reminders for you.
How It Works:
You'll notice a brand new "Bill Connect" tab when you're editing a recurring payment series. Afterwards, simply enable automatic updates, and Simplifi will start pulling real-time account data to keep your reminders current, even before your statement officially closes!
- Throughout the month: Quicken Simplifi keeps your reminders updated using the aggregated balance directly from your bank.
- After the statement closes: The system automatically updates the reminder with your final statement balance, total balance, or the minimum due — depending on your preference, of course.
This feature specifically matters because this will allow you to:
- See your real balance: Your reminders will always reflect your actual credit card balance, giving you an accurate snapshot of what you owe.
- Reclaim your time: Spend less time on manual updates and more time doing what you actually want to be doing.
- Gain visibility: Improve your financial planning and visibility, so you're always in control of your money.

I didn't really think I would use this feature or that I needed it, but I have used it more than expected. Right now I have my AmEx card and Amazon card connected. It does work as advertised, and even though I usually pay off my balances each week, it gives me peace of mind that I am not missing anything, and I know when the statement is coming and I can download it and save it.
Who knows? I might even think about waiting to pay off the card until the statement comes out. Nah! I hate owing money even for a couple of days.

"Who knows? I might even think about waiting to pay off the card until the statement comes out. Nah! "
I'm just the opposite.
I put all credit cards on autopay, which typically takes the money out of my account on the day it is due — usually 3-4 weeks after the statement comes out. That way, I keep the money in my account until the bank is contractually entitled to it, and payments are always made on time and in the right amount.
With Simplifi automatically downloading transactions frequently, I always know how much is owed in total and how much will be paid on the due date. So I don't get confused about how much money I actually have available to me. And there are no surprises.

@DryHeat Your way is the smart way to do it if you use the credit card a lot as most people do. They also get a lot more rewards.
I use a credit card 1x or 2x a month (usually Amazon.com), so I just go ahead and pay it. But with this feature I worry even less about forgetting to pay as it will get updated and I know when the statement is coming out.
Amazon.com card does download pending transactions as does AmEx. My Apple Card does too if I remember to update Simplifi on the app. I use the web app much more.

I really like the way Bill Connect handles my credit card payments.
Up to now I have manually updated the upcoming payment as soon as the statement came out. Now I don't have to do that any more.
And I never bothered with updating the payment after that with my current charges because it was too much of a pain and amounts changed almost daily. Now that is also done automatically.
Because I am basically lazy, I really appreciate things that reduce my workload without reducing the information I have available for decision making.
