Exporting Transactions - Comes as text.
Hi,
Not sure if this is a bug, but…
When going into Spending Plan > Other Spending, when you export the list of transactions, the resulting file shows the dollar amounts as text.
In Excel, a leading ' character in a cell, followed by a number is stored as text, therefor no calculations can occur until you either trim all cells' first character, or you must go into each one and remove the '.
I don't recall this happening in the past.
This seems to only affect negative numbers. If the dollar amount is positive, the ' is not there.
I highlighted the positive numbers. You can see the ' in the negative numbers.

@cowboydude99, thanks for reporting this to the Community!
I tested this on my end and see the same thing when exporting transactions from the Spending Plan, Watchlists, and Reports; it does not seem to be present when exporting from regular transaction registers. This makes me think it was a change that occurred with the redesign to how split transactions are displayed in these three features, just like this other issue that was reported and fixed here.
Does the release of this new feature seem to align with the change? Also, can you elaborate on how this formatting affects your ability to use the exported data?
We look forward to your reply!

I see the same behavior as @cowboydude99 when exporting transactions from the spending plan, watchlists, and reports. Yes, I noticed this behavior started when the enhancement for split transaction display was implemented.
