Ability to Exclude Transactions/Accounts From Watchlists separate from Reports (edited)

Hi there -- This is a great question! Currently, there isn't a way to exclude specific accounts from a watchlist. However, I think that would be a great function to have added. I'm going to turn this post into an Idea thread, that way other users can vote to increase demand for this functionality.

Thanks, it is very important for me and I am sure for many others to be able to do so, where is the link so I can vote for it as well?0

@TGP As you'll notice, there's now a "Vote" option at the start of your topic, so others can lend their support as well. Thanks for the suggestion!

Today, if a transaction is marked "Ignore from Reports", it will not show up in a watch list calculation. Please provide a per-watchlist configuration option that allows for ignoring of the transaction's ignore status. It is often helpful to ignore the transactions from the overall picture, but get granular and see them in a hand crafted watch list.

Hello @TGP,
Thanks for the inquiry!
This one hasn't made its way to the road map as of yet, as far as I'm aware. Please be sure to stay tuned for future updates, though!

There are some transactions which I don't want to appear on the cool auto-generated reports in the "Reports" tab. However, I may want to keep track of these transactions another way. I thought the "Watchlist" tab would be a great way to do this, but unfortunately it appears as though transactions hidden from reports also do not show up on the watchlist.
My request is to add a "Include Hidden Transactions" toggle to the create/edit watchlist page.-1 -
Hello All,
As a side note for this request, it appears that when ignoring accounts from Reports, they are also automatically ignored from the Watchlists (as outlined here). However, using this option would ignore the account from the Spending Plan as well, but I wanted to mention it in case anyone finds it useful.
Please let me know if anyone has any questions!

upvoted this. I'd like to exclude a tagged expense and/or have the ability to exclude it manually from Watchlist but keep seeing them in Reports.
Here's a mockup for clarity
Thanks

Examples:
- I have a tag called "One Offs"
- I use this for things like a purchase of a Dishwasher, car downpayment or anything that's a larger expense that doesn't happen on a given schedule and is relatively infrequent.
- I still want to see this in Reports since its a true expense.
- But NOT in the watchlist since the watchlist calculates averages. A large "one off" type expense throws off the average.
- Also since Watchlists include pending Bills and Subscriptions, a feature I like, the watchlist is not a true read of actual expenses. So excluding "one offs" here makes sense for me. I use Watchlists more as budget monitoring tool since it includes future expenses.
- I also have a Watchlist using my One Offs tag so I can track it separately. Ideally, this would be a Report but since I can't save a report, I use a watchlist.
- Employee reimbursables
- I don't want these in Watchlist since I'll get my money back and the timing of the payment back might throw off the monthly bar graph.
- I do want these in Reports to see my actual expenses and income irregardless of timing.
Thanks

I kinda ignored the Watchlist feature when it came out but recently (around 6 months ago) realized how incredibly useful it is. But the ability to not being able to track hidden transactions (e.g. Investment Transactions) through Watchlist is a bummer. For now, this is a top priority item for me personally.
Like a lot of us, I have dividend investments that pay me monthly/quarterly but those dividends get reinvested automatically as a separate transaction the same/next day. I completely understand why we want to exclude these from Spending Plan and the Reports but I would still like to track exactly how much Dividend Income I am receiving each month and over the last 12 months through the Watchlist feature.
My use case is a little different from the title of this thread but I think it goes hand in hand.

In the meantime, if anyone is looking for a roundabout way to get all their dividend income, you can open up the new Income and Expense report and click on the Dividend Income row even though it's displaying $0 as your Dividend Income. Once you click on that row, you should be able to see all your Dividend Income transactions, although they will be greyed out. You can then download that list as a CSV and then filter for transactions that are > 0 in excel to get the total value of your dividends for the date range that you used for the report.
