"Update your browser" message in Safari (edited)
Every time I have logged in today, Web App 4.29.0 is telling me to update my "out-of-date" Safari browser. My version is 18.0.1, the absolute latest. Weird.
I even get it with Safari Preview, which is newer. But Chromium works without the warning.

I reported it to Support just so they would know. Of course, they just told me to use another browser. I had a hard time explaining to them that I was just reporting a bug and didn't need anything else. LOL I expect it will go away in a day or so as these glitches often do. This one probably has something to do with Web App 4.29.0 although I could swear I had it for a day before this began on Friday afternoon. I even turned off Private Relay to see if that had made a difference.
I was a bit spooked because I spent all day Thursday and tweaking Friday morning after Safari got corrupted on my iMac (2019 Intel) for second time in two years. When it happens, for some reason it doesn't parse my password correctly to Quicken which reports back that my password is wrong, but it's not. I can log on with Chromium. All my Quicken sites become unavailable in Safari (Community, quicken.com, etc.). I try rebooting, cleaning history and cookies, try Incognito mode, everything. All I can do is create a new user on the Mac, log out and log on and reconfigure. Thankfully I keep everything in iCloud, but it still takes a while to set up wallpaper, log into everything, etc.
I have been tempted to replace my aging iMac with an iPad Pro, but I still need a PC for Quicken and it's hard to let 20+ years of data go. Someone should market an app that reads old Quicken files because I only need once in a while to look something up.
I have decided not to install Simplifi as a Safari app though I doubt that's the culprit. I may just create a Chromium app just for Simplifi but I couldn't get my last Chromium app to update from Web Version 4.23.0 and the latest was 4.29.0. I find most people on here just use the iOS app. Anyhow, if anyone here has a Mac and early access, check to see if you get the admonition to update Safari. Thanks!

My guess is that "18.x" isn't being detected. It was probably looking for 17.x (the latest 17 version).
If it's otherwise working, i'd keep using it, but yes, someone should know about this - i just suspect on a weekend the developers aren't working.

@RobWilk Thanks. I knew I could depend on you. As I said, had it happened some other time, I probably would have ignored it as I ignore other glitches, which I see all the time. I usually just redo whatever went wrong, or wait until the weekly web app update.

Is there a way to find out which version of the Web Release is being used from within the app?
